Lea is an amazing and welcoming host. She upgraded one of our rooms to beautiful River Cottage on the creek. Breakfast was generous with the freshest of produce and very reasonably priced. Everything perfect.

Property information

Sheltered by a bank of ancient Camphor Laurel trees, The Laurels of Chinchilla is a timeless character homestead and rustic cabins, set amongst magnificent gardens on the banks of the historic and picturesque Charleys Creek, and walking distance to Chinchilla town centre. In 2010, Shara regularly came to visit friends working on a project in Chinchilla and would stay at the original version of The Laurels. She was captivated by the delightful location, so different from anything else in Chinchilla. As an interior designer in Noosa and involved in the building, renovating and design industries, Shara immediately knew that this was a personal passion project that she must complete. Something far different from the coastal accommodation industry that she knew well. A rustic paradise in the waiting! The result is accommodation for all types of guests, where ambience, and customer comfort are a priority. Guests can choose to mingle with others or have complete privacy. For our four legged lovers, please enquire about our two pet friendly rooms to ensure nobody misses out! Shara and Lea-Anne welcome all enquiries with pleasure.

Neighbourhood information

The Laurels of Chinchilla was built by one of Chinchilla's earliest settlers on the banks of Charley's Creek, in an area originally known as "Downstown" a nod to the Downes family who owned the nearby sawmill. The Laurels is situated next door to the Chinchilla Farmers Market Fruit Shop, which is full of healthy, fresh produce, smoothies and coffees. Two doors away, closer to town is Charley's Creek Cafe which offers wonderful meals and specialises in Woodfired Pizza's. Perfect to bring back and enjoy by one of our many fireplaces with a lovely glass of wine. A short walk further and you will arrive at the Commercial Hotel which also offers a delicious restaurant and bar.
