Harry's Cabin is a beautifully designed house located high on hills overlooking Lake Victoria and the source of the river Nile in the distance. It's unique location allows for both sunrise and sunset to be enjoyed from the covered terrace or anywhere on the lush property grounds. Rain & well water for your dishes, solar power for light, a rooster for your alarm clock, this lovely spot has a way of making you slow down and appreciate the little things. The cabin has an awesome open air rainfall shower accessible from the bedroom, a full kitchen and a superb mezzanine and covered veranda. The expansive compound is fenced and secure, and is shared with the host & her family. A note on the roads: The roads are rather rocky and steep so be prepared for a bit of an adventure your first time heading up. Unless your car sits rather low on, most types of cars (both 4WD and 2WD) have been able to climb the final stretch up to the house - however we do recommend you use a 4WD, particularly during the rainy season. The rewarding views and steady breeze sweeping down from the surrounding hills is well worth the thrill of the bumpy, winding and rather steep climb. We prefer to arrange for a boda (at our cost) to come and find you (near the new bridge) and lead you up to the Cabin. This is all coordinated over the phone/whatsapp once a booking is made. While the Cabin is a 25-30 minute drive from Jinja town we strongly recommend that you pick up supplies before you arrive. The Cabin is stocked with the basics (oil, salt, sugar, tea/coffee, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, ginger, garlic), but best to stock up before you arrive to save you a trip into town. There is in compound parking and a permanent security guard (as well as three dogs) to keep you safe.

Barbara is originally from Belgium and moved to Uganda in 2012 to work in the agricultural sector. Angelo is from Jinja, and is an artist - the work on the walls are all his! You can find him painting in his studio most days (Jinja Art Studio) opposite the Deli on main street - Jinja. We bought this land early 2020, and following a furiously fast build, moved in that same year. We live in the main house with our two kids, Alicia & Arthur.
