This hotel has everything you might need as a first-timer in New York. It has spacious and cozy rooms, equipped with everything you need and more, such as an empty fridge for your drinks and food, a good hair dryer, clothes iron, and even a sleeping machine with white noise or animal sounds if you need a bit of help to fall asleep. Knowing that I have an iron and an ironing board in the room really helped me relax while packing for my trip. We also had a big umbrella in the closet, as well as super comfy bathrobes and slippers. The view from our room was stunning, and there wasn't much noise, just an occasional siren which was muffled and didn't bother us while we relaxed or slept. We also couldn't hear any of the neighbors! They also provided us with a free Nespresso machine, tea, and coffee pods. The staff was super polite and helpful; they really offered help and went out of their way to let us know we could ask for everything we might need. Such an atmosphere really helped us relax! From the reception, doormen, bartenders, cleaners, and waiters at the bar - everyone was super nice. The location is one of the best in town - you have Times Square and metro stations just a couple minutes away, a 24h open CVS, Whole Foods, Joe's Pizza, Broadway theaters, Bryant Park, and so much more just a couple of steps away from the hotel. The public Library, Summit One Vanderbilt, and Grand Central Station are also very easy and close to walk to. We appreciated the happy hour with a free Aperol spritz every day from 4-6 PM, and it was super refreshing after our busy day of exploring. We also had the opportunity to dine at the AperiBar, and needless to say, the food was fantastic. We had oysters, a pizza, and a steak; everything was heavenly. Their cocktails are also fabulous. We'd absolutely recommend LUMA to everyone who is coming to NY for the first time and wants to have a perfect, smooth base for exploring.

The room was spacious, renovated, large bed, quiet, the staff of the hotel was very kind, professional and helpful. We asked to change the room and they delivered my request. The bathroom was also clean and nicely renovated.

I loved this hotel! Our room was huge, there was tons of storage available, desk, tables, a sofa - I could easily have lived here for months, so for a week it was luxury. The neighbourhood couldn’t be better, close enough to everything but away from the more frantic areas near Time Square. The housekeeping staff was outstanding. This was our last stop after two months travel, staying at over 2 dozen hotels. The beds here were absolutely the most comfortable! The room had all the amenities o e could want and they very generously replaced water, Nespresso and tea daily. I would happily stay here next time I visit NYC.

    The hotel was in a perfect location for us, being less than 2 blocks from Times Square and only short walks (short for New York at least) to the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Centre and Penn Station. Despite it being in a busy part of New York, it was such a quiet hotel which I personally liked. Would definitely stay here again if I come back to New York again

    Location: just opposite to the new wing of Penn Station - this is the only reason that I picked this hotel as I had quite early / late train tickets booked. Also, the hotel is like within 10 mins walk to Edge / Vessel and around 10-15 mins by walk to Empire State Building. Room: Quiet and equipped with basic and standard facilities.

    Lovely hotel in good central location in Mid Town Manhattan, near to Time Square, Broadway, Madison Square Garden and Penn Station. Good breakfast included with room whish is buffet style, reasonably good selection and excellent staff. Room was good, smaller than it looks in picture but had kitchette facilities which was good. Good air con and friendly helpful staff on reception.

    I liked the location of the hotel, 10 minutes walking from penn station. Close to subway line 1. The rooms are clean, contain comfortable beds, shower, table, coffee and tea. Cold water and ice cubes are available. Staff was kind and helpful. It was a good place to go back to in the evening after long hot days of touring the amazing new york city.

    I arrived in new york late. The hostel was so easy to get to from Newark airport. 3 stops on train to Penn Station then subway 9 stops to 103. Leave entrance and walk 1 block up & ur at the hostel. Fantastic location for everywhere. Subway so close to all attractions & a few lovely local bars just up the road. A fantastic breakfast bit down stairs to get excellent food & gorgeous back garden cab sit out n relax in the peace n quite to start ur day.

Very clean and comfortable at a reasonable price for New York and its location. Staff helpful and friendly. On site bar a restaurant okay but nothing special and operates separately to the hotel.
