- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 316 reviewsI absolutely loved my stay at the Epiphyte B&B. Matt is a fantastic host and made sure everyone felt really welcome. With his welcoming nature he managed to build a community right from the start with everyone having dinner and breakfast together (there was absolutely no pressure to do so but we all enjoyed it very much and even those with kitchen facilities in their cabins tended to come over to the bigger communal kitchen). Apart from that, the B&B is right in the middle of the forest, surrounded by absolutely incredible nature. It offers extremely easy access to the daintree rainforest as well es the Great Barrier Reef which is only a 25min boat ride away. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough! Thanks Matt, you made my first few days in Australia truly special :)Guest review byAnnaIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 68 reviewsThe property was much better than it seemed through the photos. It was cosy and clean, with two fans in our twin room that were individually controlled. The room had a bar fridge, cups, and coffee and tea provided. The property also has a short trail system that residents can use, and said to have regular visits from cassowaries and Musk rat kangaroos. There is also a roost for the Spectacled Flying foxes on site. As a bird watcher it was nice to see a few species of doves roosting in the trees around the property. The owners were really friendly and nice when it comes to recommendations and maintaining the property! Though it should be noted that there is limited reception on site for optus, and no reception on telstra network.Guest review byYING XIN ELIZESingapore
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 58 reviewsDon’t be fooled by the term” farm “people. This wasn’t just accomodation, this is an experience at an incredibly high standard. Stunning tropical fruit farm in paradise. Amazing outdoor space for self catering and very comfy and well appointed interior. The team were very welcoming and explained all about the tropical fruit we were given upon arrival. The care and love they have for the environment is at the forefront of everthing they do. Honestly didn’t want to leave, what a privilege to stay there, we will be back 👌Guest review byCherylNew Zealand

- From £63.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 584 reviewsIt's amazing place, in the middle of the jungle. Everything is organized perfectly - fully equipped kitchen, you got your own cutlery set and shelf, but you are not feeling like cooking breakfast and dinner are served as well as fresh coffee. Beautiful rainforest and wildlife everywhere, we even seen a cassowary peeping through the kitchen window :DGuest review byPaulinaPoland

If you are looking for a secluded place, choose this one. It is easy to approach, though, if you have a car. The staff is very friendly, the bungalows are neat and cosy. They have amazing cooks, meals are great!! You need to book your lunch/dinner in advance; I recommend to have your meals here.Guest review byKrisztinaHungary

Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions.
Wonderful area with lots of natural attractions. Highly recommended for nature lovers, hikers and anyone who wants to get away from it all. Getting away from it all includes not a whole lot of phone reception, so take a printed map. Limited groceries available so if you are self catering best to shop beforehand in Cairns or Mossman.Guest review byChristineNew Zealand - 10.0
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation.
Loved Daintree rainforest and cape tribulation. A must see if you are heading to Cairns, Palm Cove or Port.Douglas. It’s is a world heritage site. We did indigenous tour at Mossman gorge which was great. Beautiful tropical trees and fauna. Fresh healthy air. You must do it!Guest review byMichymoo2706Australia - 10.0

We love Mossman as a quick stay on our way to the Daintree. The Woolies is great to re stock, we had pies from the lovely organic dough pie shop and were excited to be traveling through on a Saturday as Mossman markets are one of our favorites (and we’ve visited a few!)Guest review bykimAustralia - 10.0

Our accommodation in Diwan was in an excellent location for exploring the amazing Daintree rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Nothing was further than 25 minutes away by car including Cow Bay, the Daintree Rainforest Discovery Centre, Thornton's Beach, Cape Tribulation, Cooper Creek Croc Cruise and various interesting boardwalks. We were predominantly self-catering, so we can't comment on the quality of most of the cafes and restaurants in the area. We did enjoy morning coffees at the Daintree Fan Palm Farm, which also offers organic pies, organic wholefoods and organic fresh local produce. The one meal we had out was at The Beach House in Cape Tribulation, where we shared a generous serve of fish tacos. Some restaurants can get very busy in the middle of the day when tour groups stop for lunch. Also be aware that they mostly finish their lunch service at 2.00pm.Guest review byLynetteAustralia - 10.0
Beautiful location, stunning views.
Beautiful location, stunning views. We stayed in large spacious house close to the beach. We took all of our own food as there were excellent kitchen facilities. The beach is stunning. The Daintree area has lots to offer.Guest review byJody - 10.0

I loved how it was close to the beach and very quiet and peaceful. With a little driving most attractions were close by or within half hour. Spending time in the Daintree was spectacular and I found most of the visitors were respectful of the tranquillity. Half an hour to Port Douglas for shopping or spending the day driving up to Cape Tribulation, river cruise, all great adventures.Guest review byKim - 10.0

A beautiful, airy, spacious home that was meticulously cleaned. The cottage was set in a gorgeous garden where giant, blue Ulysses butterflies fluttered, where cassowaries visited. The kitchen allowed for easy meal preparation. The hosts were friendly and provided good tourist information. The cottage has a glimpse of the sea, in between 2 smaller cottages that are between the road and the larger cottage we enjoyed. Thornton beach is beautiful, with firm white sand which for great walking (no swimming advised because of crocodiles). A vehicle is strongly recommended in Daintree.Guest review byRoslynAustralia - 10.0

The whole experience from the ferry ride, meandering along windy roads whilst taking in the magnificent tropical views to our destination was fascinating. The 2023 December cyclone caused chaos with the roads eroding & severely damaged, there are traffic management staff all the way with single lanes & traffic lights along cape tribulation road. Well worth a visit to support the local businesses & Heritage Lodge staff were amazing & our evening dinners were 5 star restaurantGuest review byDebraAustralia - 10.0
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape...
Mossman is actually closer to the Daintree and Cape Tribulation than Port Douglas, but Port is a very short drive away to be able get to reef cruises and activities there. Mossman is the old town, still with elements of 'country', check out the Exchange Hotel (there is a Woolworths on the edge of town - I wish they'd hide it behind large trees) and a regular market every Saturday (10.00 am - 1.00 pm) in the historic church grounds. It is not overwhelmed by tourism, but the surrounding areas have B&B and accommodation options. Mossman Gorge is an amazing upland rainforest experience. You get one of the mini-busses from the Visitor Info Centre (every 15 mins until 5.30 pm) This takes you to the walking trail. The first part is boardwalk, then an easy bush trail in a circuit. The forest is spectacular, very relaxing to see & hear the water of the Mossman River. Sit on the seating or a rock near the trail and wonder at the profusion of life that fills every space. TIP: Take a towel & wear swimmers, as there is a rock pool about 2/3 of or the way along the bush trail with clear fresh water, safe to wade & cool off in.Guest review byBruceAustralia - 10.0
Diwan is an excellent area from which to explore Daintree NP...
Diwan is an excellent area from which to explore Daintree NP. Close to Cow Bay and Thornton Beach, with the towering Thornton Peak looming ever present. Take a drive to Mason's Cafe for lunch and a dip in the waterhole. You cannot swim at the beaches due to crocs, heed the warnings! There are great walks contructed in the forest which are well worth doing.Supplies are basic cf. what you can buy in a large supermarket. Buy your supplies before you cross the river, in Mossman. If you are staying a few days, consider if you will need to cross the river repeatedly as there is a toll and it may be more economical to buy a week pass, depending on what you do. I spent 4 days as a solo traveller, after some reef snorkelling from Pt. Douglas. I spent the time exploring the area north of the river, up to Cape Tribulation. The beaches are breathtaking, even for an Aussie like me. Just the sounds of the forest, the birds, the frogs and insects an d the wind through the trees...divine. I felt so peaceful when I arrived home.Guest review byAnneAustralia
