- From £121.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 702 reviewsWe are over from the Uk visiting our son and family who live on the Sunshine Coast. We wanted to have a short break away and chose The Clouds because we loved the idea of being in the rain forest. We stayed in one of the deluxe cottages which are separate from the main hotel and you really feel in the rain forest! The cottage was very comfortable and clean with a lovely comfy large bed. The bath in the room was great too and so lovely to look out on the lush canopy listening to the sounds of the forest. The air conditioning worked well but we also loved sitting out on the verandah too!( don’t forget to bring insect repellent if you want to sit out in the evening) The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make a basic supper/ breakfast ! The staff, including Susie, Bree and the cleaners were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.Guest review bySerenaUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 91 reviewsOur stay at Narrows Escape was pure perfection! The service was beyond exceptional—we were treated to complimentary champagne, chocolates, roses, cheese, and freshly baked croissants every morning. They even offered personal drives into town and on excursions, making our stay effortless, luxurious and well worth it. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and the hospitality was truly five-star. Montville is also a really cute little town with good restaurants and services, would come back!Guest review byMattFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 102 reviewsno wishes left open, the perfect bungalow and interior, the quiet, scenic setting with the little things here and there, the kangaroos grazing, the delicious breakfast... all obviously well maintained. As we had on the first day extremely heavy rain that had several roads flooded (so we were nearly locked in), the couple running the nearby cafe came and asked if we needed anything like food ... really took care. This place is like in a dream - full score.Guest review byElkeGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 557 reviewsMaleny Tropical Retreat is a gem. The place has been curated with authentic Balinese furniture and decor, creating a unique, calming environment. The place is well laid out, clean and very comfortable. The star of the show is the amazing view from the patio, overlooking the mountains and Baroon lake. The host and owner, Ken, was kind and made us feel very welcome. The continental breakfast supplied was great. We will definitely return.Guest review byBrianaCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 139 reviewsEverything was amazing! The location is great and close to Maleny and Montville for little trips as well as finding waterfalls. The cottage was spectacular and the views from the daybed were magical, especially when I fractured my ankle on a walk and had to spend the next day relaxing out on the balcony. Daily breakfast delivered to the room was delicious and the service and care from Emily was beyond expectations.Guest review byDenikaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 158 reviewsThe breakfast was absolutely fabulous. It was a typical French breakfast. Cooked and prepared beautifully and served perfectly. So much attention to detail is exactly what makes this auberge stand out from the crowd.Guest review byMrsFrance

A huge effort has gone into lovingly restoring the train carriages and I loved the ethos of this wonderful place.Guest review byJaniceNew Zealand

Montville is a gorgeous town in the Sunshine Coast hinterland .. I just love it and keep coming back. So close to everything - including beaches, shopping centres - yet far enough away to escape from the world! Cool winters, open fireplaces and autumn leaves make the place even more special.Guest review byJoanneAustralia - 10.0
Maleny is a quaint, beautiful and magical place.
Maleny is a quaint, beautiful and magical place. We loved the trail from the property into town, loved to walk around the little boutique shops and also great that all amenities can be bought there. The pharmacy isn't open on Sunday's so take note. We recommend booking restaurants ahead of time.Guest review byKelly FenningAustralia - 8.0

Nambour is an old established town but it provides easy and quick access to the Sunshine Coast( around 20 mins to the Sunshine Coast airport) where accommodation could be considerably more expensive. My stay in the Nambour Heights Motel was directly opposite the Nambour Hospital and relatively close to other places in the area. It was 11 minutes from the Buderim Ginger Factory and very close to the Big Pineapple. Also close to the Bli Bli water ski park which appeared to be a huge complex.Guest review byMichaelAustralia - 10.0

The main attraction in Beerwah is Australia Zoo but we actually skipped the zoo this time and opted out for a quieter and more peaceful trip. There are so many beautiful landscapes and walks to enjoy in the area and it's only a short drive to Maleny or Montville as well. If you are seeking a relaxing experience, I'd definitely recommend visiting those two little towns. We enjoyed the Thai Restaurant in Maleny and strolls through the streets of Montville followed by a hearty lunch at The Edge Restaurant. We also visited the Botanic Gardens & Bird Sanctuary in Maleny which was AMAZING!Guest review byLisaGermany - 10.0
My favourite Italian restaurant was open.
My favourite Italian restaurant was open. So a hot pizza on a cold night made all the difference to our stay. The local store has a great variety of foods for snacks or dinner and then it's nice just to walk around and explore the town.Guest review byGrahamAustralia - 10.0

Mapleton is a small country town on the top of a ridgeline with that side having views over Mount Coolum and Marcoola to the ocean in the distance. There are numerous hikes/walks in the area including access to the Sunshine Coast Great Walk. If you visit I would highly recommend having a lunch at the Mapleton Hotel, it was an absolute surprise, the food and service was sensational. The more touristy town of Montville is a short drive away. The town also has several coffee shops, an IGA and service station.Guest review byGlenAustralia - 10.0
Excellent stay. Everything was absolutely fantastic.
Excellent stay. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful home in the most magnificent setting. Everything and more was catered for. Honor was helpful and informative. Very kind. I actually cried the morning we had to leave. Definitely could have stayed, much longer.Guest review byLynneUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Palmwoods is a cute little town in the Sunshine Coast...
Palmwoods is a cute little town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It is a short scenic drive to Montville and Maleny, and an easy drive to Maroochydore and other coastal spots. Local eating places of note are Piggyback (Asian fusion - delicious!), Ric's Garage (burgers and shakes, American diner style - fun!), The Shed (coffee, cakes, new & 2nd hand interiors/furniture) and Chew Chew Bistro (licensed bistro, local produce). Plus a quality fish & chippery, and good bakery. Lots of places to explore and try.Guest review byBlackEyePeaAustralia - 6.0

Have been visiting Montville for a few years- the town is pretty with places to eat and stay but sadly it is getting old- footpaths are dangerous for the elderly-- empty shops everywhere and overpriced. Tourists will stop coming if prices increase and go elsewhere on the coastGuest review byNoelAustralia
