Atiu is a very special place.
Atiu is a very special place. Many travelers skip it because there are no swimming beaches or diving. The island has plenty to do, though--bird watching, hiking, and relaxing. Be sure and book an eco-tour with Birdman George, the island's resident naturalist. It's a fascinating look at Atiu's history, flora, and fauna. And an excellent lunch as well!. Other must-sees: the bird cave and the coffee plantation.
