I loved everything about this place. The staff, the food at the restaurant, everything. They can help accommodate whatever special requests you might have and helped me arrange a great guided hike around the volcano. The room was clean and the hammock out front was perfectly shaded for afternoon reading. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, above and beyond expectations.

Hacienda Guachipelin Volcano Ranch Hotel & Hot Springs is located at the foot of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, in north-west Costa Rica. The beauty of the surroundings, the nice welcome at the reception desk, the email alerting us to sign up for the hot tub time and for dinner. I loved that we could stay on the property for some hours after checkout time which was great for enjoying more of the beauty.

I really loved this place. It is surrounded by nature, and you can hear birds singing and other animal sounds day and night. It is run by kind and helpful people, and there are two friendly dogs and a parrot in the house. I enjoyed an excellent vegan breakfast every morning. I recommend this bed&breakfast for those who are seeking counterbalance to the city life.

Located in Guayabos, Pochote Lodge has free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The host Francisco is so friendly and great to chat with (in spanish). Our rental car could not make it up the road as its quite steep and has loose gravel (we had a 2WD geely gx3) but Francisco very kindly offered to leave our car in the parking lot of a nearby gated hotel and he drove us up and back down the next morning. The breakfast was traditional costa rican and very well made. The property was pretty and we saw keel billed toucans in the morning. The beds were comfortable, there was a small kitchen we could use and everything was very clean. Would recommend!
