Adams Lodge is a brand new hotel in downtown Mangochi. It's a bit tucked away so hidden from the traffic, but there are plenty of signs that make it easy to arrive safely. The lodge is in great condition, and they are currently working on improvements to add more spaces and services for guests. More importantly than the lodge though is Adam himself. This man is genuinely one of the kindest people I've met traveling. From helping me across the border from Mozambique to showing me some sights around town to even cutting down his own coconuts for me to try, Adam went above and beyond to make me feel at home. Don't miss this place, you won't regret it.

Located in Chipoka, 16 miles from Lake Malawi Museum, Sunbird Nkopola has accommodations with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a bar. Great location (on the lake). Amazingly friendly catering staff; went completely off-menu to source and prepare authentic "local" vegetarian food for me; and kept doing it for the whole week. Super helpful operations team were always willing to try to fix problems as they occurred (eg. bad wifi); can't blame them for others' mistakes!
