Facing the beachfront, Cap Karoso Sumba - a member of Design Hotels offers 5-star accommodation in Tambolaka and has free bikes, outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre. I have a long history of international travel, including high-end hotels. I don't give a 10 rating often. But Cap Karoso was exceptional. The stand-outs include the food (remarkable!), and the landscaping and hotel grounds immaculate. The ambiance was perfect for me. Even the music choices in public places. I am booking a return trip now, bringing friends.

The hotel is beautifully designed and in a beautiful area very close to some picturesque beaches. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make it easy to organise trips and activities so you can experience Sumba. Surf lessons are a lot of fun and the village tour and waterfall tour are both great. Cocktails were really good, as was the food at breakfast. The hotel seems to have a good relationship with the local people and seems to have genuinely benefitted Sumba.

Ecoresort Sumba Dream offers a beachfront accommodation in Tanaraing, Sumba. Among the various facilities are a garden and a terrace. There is a restaurant. Very calm place. Great to relax and slow down. Fresh food, wonderful beach, great for walks at low tide.

Situated in Waikabubak, 1.2 km from Rua Beach, Bobocabin Umarato, Sumba provides air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Lelewatu Resort Sumba features free WiFi and rooms with air conditioning in Watukarere. Everything! We were wowed by everything in our bungalow/villa. The best view ever! Blue ocean, breathtaking sunset, thousands of stars in the night sky. The villa was really private, bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely love to come back in the future!

The staff are amazing. The owner brought the community together for dinner, gave detailed recommendations, joined me for beach walks and so much more. Anna, the manger made incredible food, sang and was so charismatic. I really couldn’t recommend this place any more. The rooms are fantastic, super cozy bed and incredibly peaceful.
