Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The location of this hotel was perfect. Just a walking distance from the center so very easy for families as well. Rooms were clean and nice. Would recommend this hotel especially for big families like we have.

Garbage should be taken daily, not every 2-3 days.
The manager of the hotel is a very kind person and he is willing to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Parking space is a bit tight and the owner got involved in directing you to park - which depending on what kind of driver you are can be a good or bad thing.
Rooms are spacious with large bathroom and balcony. Caught really nice sunlight too. Temperature of the rooms were good. Staff were clear and helpful.

If you need to sleep in quiet, think twice…the door is very thin and you can actually hear any noise from the hall, when someone enters and leaves, when speaks..etc.

Quietness of the room. Easily rectified, though with a little white-noise-maker or earplugs.
Just a great little hotel with an exceptionally friendly staff. You can't beat this hotel for the value. I was very happy, and pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended!

Not much space for parking. we parked our car in the owners garden which was very safe. the TV in the room was very small, a very old fashion tv. It wasn’t a problem for us as we only stayed one night and watched the World Cup game outside. The bathroom floor gets very wet when you have a shower and becomes very dangerously slippery. I am sure these are small things that can be fixed.

Don't think there is parking so.had to go around to find a place, which can be tricky in Tirana
Very nice hosts, although not much English speaking but managed to communicate in Italian (which kind of makes sense given the name of the hotel ;) Room quite big and comfortable

The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The owner is friendly and ready to help. The location is very convenient, a short walk to the city center and many cafes and shops nearby. It was a very good stay in Tirana, absolutely nothing to complain about!

Good location, local bars and restaurants nearby were excellent. Walking distance to buses and central sights. Good city to visit, people friendly and offer help. Although old fashioned, the room was very clean and spacious. Owner and staff friendly and helpful.

We stayed only for a night at Hotel Italia. The owner is more than hospitable. Speaks better Italian than English. Location is OK, free parking. Everything was clean. Good value for money. Really nothing to complain.

Absolutely perfect! First of all, the owner of the hotel is a very very friendly and nice person. And he did an incredible job to help us get our car into the parking slot of the hotel. The hotel itself is simple, but very clean and quite. The room was very spacious and the frigde was very helpful to keep food and drinks cold during hot summer days. We enjoyed our stay so much that we spontaneously booked another night to enjoy the comfortable beds and explore the beautiful and growing city of Tirana a bit more. If you are looking for an incredible value for your money, you should definitely book a night at the Italia Hotel!

The host was a terrible disgusting man! He asked me to come to a different hotel with him so we could "spend some time together".. his wife was downstairs but that didn't stop him. After I told him "no" many times, he switched to asking me out to dinner first?!.. Please do not go here, it is not safe for solo female travellers.
