Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBathroom was very cramped, and the shower made a terrible noise, I’m sure the whole house knew when we were showering. Not really any choice for breakfast, it was full English of parts of, nothing else.
Location was ideal, close to the beach and the town centre.

United KingdomI didn’t like being charged for car parking that I didn’t have. It was explained to me upon arrival but then the car park was almost empty and I didn’t expect it. Parking on the road is not a problem but it is when you have paid for it.
The location and breakfast were excellent and the room was nice but I am not sure what made it a deluxe room.

United KingdomNot really a fair complaint because it's obviously an old house but quite creaky, felt bad for whoever might have been below us whenever I walked about. Very narrow bathroom making it a bit awkward to get in and out but again arguably part of the charm of an old building where this has been fit in. Some slightly dodgy DIY repairs/fixings and the bedside table looked like it was ready to fall off the wall but it didn't, everything was actually fine and it was all perfectly clean, so although it's easy to be picky about a few things at face value, nothing broke and nothing caused a problem. The mirror in the bathroom was I think meant to have a light built in but it didn't work.
Great night's sleep, good comfy bed and sensible pillows (can't stand the unnecessarily puffy ones). Decent cooked breakfast - nothing world beating and if I'd paid £13 for it at the time I'd probably have been a bit disappointed but when it's "included" (slightly cheaper) it's fine and sausages were good. Simple and easy to be a guest there. Good location for buses, town centre and easy enough walk down the hill to the beach.

New ZealandIt was easy to hear people moving around in the hallway - can’t help that in an old building!
The guy on the front desk is one of the loveliest, calmest people to talk to, such a great experience from the start. I had a fantastic room with everything I needed, plenty of natural light and space.

United KingdomThis time some work was being done in the morning while I was really needing a lie-in. It was not very restful.
I have stayed here a few times. I am always satisfied, the room and bed are comfortable and the general standard is consistent. Good value in Bournemouth for the price.

United KingdomMy only gripe, and it is a small gripe, is the room was quite dark, even with all the lights on. I think a stronger mainlight bulb would be beneficial.
The room was well appointed and spacious. Excellent breakfast, with lots of choice. Cooked breakfast was lovely and served hot!

United KingdomNo hand towels in the en-suite and the water temperature from the power shower was a bit variable but otherwise okay. Would perhaps sample breakfast next time but can't comment on food
We like the location of the hotel and the Goat and Tricycle pub is just around the corner which is a great bonus. Our room was clean and comfortable. We didn't sample the breakfast as this was not included in the price and it had to be confirmed by 8pm the evening before so we opted to eat elsewhere. The location is good to walk into the town (we usually walk from the train station and stop to say hello to the Bournemouth goats en-route!) It's not too far from the sea front and that is a lovely walk. The hotel kindly allowed us to leave our luggage with them whilst we went shopping and colllected them at the end of the day.

Location was great near restaurants and shops. Loved blue light on mirror inside toilet with just enough light to see at night 🌙. EXCELLENT!

United KingdomI think the room could have had a hand towel in it for the bathroom so that didn't have to use big towel. I think the breakfast could have had more selection.
I liked the location as it was very close to the local town centre where the shops and bars are etc. I liked that the room was cosy and that it was a quiet room.

United KingdomOnly negative was no food-heating facilities, but being able to bring food in made up for that.
I liked that the facilities (toilet and shower) were contained in the room. The tea, coffee, and kettle were appreciated touches, even if I didn't avail them. Room was fairly spacious given the en suite facilities. WiFi worked a charm. Key system was easy to grasp. Staff were both informative and friendly. As I was visiting to see Judas Priest play, I appreciated the proximity to the venue. Room was cheap in price only—definitely great value. Would definitely consider again if visiting Bournemouth.

United KingdomI can’t really complain about anything apart from the floor being creaky but that can’t be helped also maybe could have done with a few more cushions.
Was greeted by the receptionist who was super friendly with the biggest smile 😀 Our room was bright and spacious, the bed was comfortable and was just a short distance from the beach/town centre which was perfect .

United KingdomI thought the communal area could be a bit more cosy and welcoming. It would also be really useful to have a self catering kitchen, for the lower end scale of hotels, eating out is fun but can be very expensive when it's 3 meals a day.
I thought the shower was excellent, and the bed was clean and well presented. The location was also very good, close to the town center.
