Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe property is only 2km from the centre, walking to and from the centre is doable it but the roads are not very well lit at night. I unfortunately didn't have a car but for any travellers that plan to rent a car this is a great place to stay.
The hosts were very nice and welcoming made me feel right at home. The room had amenities to allow me to make coffee and a bite to eat as well as wash some of my clothes. There was a small balcony to relax on.

United KingdomNothing to dislike about the property. However if you’re looking to book, it’s definitely worth getting a hire car or some form of transport. We used the local busses to get to the main towns and beach. However it’s less accessible if you are wanting to explore more of the island. So it’s definitely worth getting a car for Milos especially as the property is about a 20 minutes walk from the town (which they do specify). We were happy with walking but it’s not an easy walk to do especially in the heat, so if you’re able to get a car I would highly recommend doing so as it will make your life easier with getting to and from the property but also around the island to see and explore more. However if you weren’t getting a car definitely have a look at the bus routes online and plan it as they have limited available. But the walk from the port to the property is do-able if you are capable and don’t mind the heat!
It was very clean and comfortable. Is about a 20 minutes walk into the town. Well equipped with the essentials. Perfect for our few nights stay.

United KingdomWe had a great stay in a sea view room with terrace. The room was very comfortable and clean, from the terrace we had an amazing view looking at the sea and the main town of Milos. Excellent value for money compared to other places we had stayed on our trip in Greece. You do need a car to stay here, but it's the best way to explore the island since public transport is limited. This is a great find - don't hesitate to book!

New ZealandThe only negative were the two dogs that seemed to be chained up just down the driveway 24/7. Be nice to see them a bit more taken care of. They are both super friendly and really crave any attention as you walk past.
Great location and view. Lovely amenities and comfortable bed. Very helpful throughout our stay and gave us lots of bottled water.

GreeceWe received true Greek hospitality during our stay at Kapetan Giannis. The hotel owners were very kind and welcoming. They even gave us a lift to the beach and to the port when they saw we didn't have a car (thank you!!). The location of the hotel is very calm and the view is stunning. We will definitely be going back next time we're in Milos.

IrelandThere was nothing we didn’t like.
Giannis was an exceptional host. This is the perfect place to stay if you are renting a quad or car being only 5 minutes from Adamas and 5 minutes to Sarakiniko beach. Our room was very clean and well maintained. The beautiful sea view and view of Adamas was an added bonus.

BelgiumVery nice b&b in the immediate outskirts of Adamantas on a hill. Very calm at night you can only hear the crickets. There's also a path in the country and in 10 minutes you're in Adamantas centre (if you don't have scooter or car or moto). Room is cleaned every day, airco and fridge and tv working well (i only saw greek programs, but who cares of tv...). I also had a small terrace where you can have breakfast. Also at 10 minutes walk there's a big supermarket and all the main beaches Sarakiniko, Fyropotamos, Mandrakia are at 10 minutes car/moto. Airport is also at 10 minutes. And Kapetan Giannis is the master, very helpful with lots of anecdotes and wisdom.

FranceThe owner, Kapetan Giannis, is a super friendly and helpful host! In the morning after our late arrival, he brought us to the city, gave us a few recommendations and has shown us a quicker way by foot into the city than the one you'll find on Google Maps. Following this way, it'll only take you 15-20 min from the city center. The room was well equipped. The terrace offered a nice view towards the city and the harbour. We would definately come back to Kapetan Giannis!

Kapetan Giannis house is located in a very good position for nature lovers: it’s perfect for who wants to say in contact with nature and relaxing. The room was clean and towels have been changed everyday. Overall its tiny dimensions, it had all the necessary for our stay: wardrobe, table and chair, fridge, coffee machine, microwave and a comfortable terrace with another table and chairs. Water, coffee and something to have breakfast have been provided in the room. The host was very welcoming and friendly, helpful to give us tips for restaurants and places to visit.

CanadaWe had a wonderful time at Kapetan Giannis! Giannis and his wife and son were incredibly kind and generous to us, always wanted to make sure we were having a good stay and even drove us around a few times. The place is beautiful and bed was very comfortable. We didn’t mind that it was a bit out of Adamas since it was only a 15 minute walk and allowed us to catch nice views on the way. Definitely recommend it!

ItalyCan't think of anything, but probably a large frying pan would have been helpful. Ah, I almost forgot, bring mosquitos repellent or ask Giannis for one. I think each apartment has one in the drawers.
The apartment was nicely furnished, clean and with all mod cons. We found Greek yoghurt, cakes, biscuits and an easy to use pod coffee machine...with lots of coffee. Really nice welcoming surprise. The position of the property is strategic: just 1,5 km outside Adamas, with nice view of the bay, and within 2 to 5 km range from some of the most beautiful beaches and scenic spots north of Milos. Giannis and his wife are great hosts, always ready to help and can really give you excellent tips for places to visit, restaurants, car/scooter rent and...winds, life saver tip when travelling on the island. Giannis has got two adorable pets, which made our stay even more entertaining. PS: when booking, check out the two new apartments available from the 18/7/2022, I believe. They are absolutely fantastic.

FranceThey are making an extension of the house and they are making works, so it's noisy from very early in the morning until the evening. You can not relax in the terrace and you don't have privacy with the workers in front.
