Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Location wasn't really what we were looking for in an area with apartment buildings everywhere.
The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good.

The walls are quite thin so you might hear a lot of noise from the neighbors but it gets quiet during the night.
The host was very nice and gave us great advice on where to eat or what to see in the general area. The room was clean, with a large comfortable bed. Breakfast was also great with lots of options. There is public parking available on site, with enough parking space. Keep in mind the place is located in a residential area (apartment building).

Well located B&B with a huge free parking in front of it. The owner is very kind and helpful. We were working remotely and she let us stay in the open spaces after our checkout so we could finish our work, without a need to look for any coffee shop or fast food to work from. (which is not very common in a place like Syracuse) :)

The location was not what we expected. The B&B is located on the third floor (yes, lots of stairs!) in a building part of an apartment complex that at first sight did not look so good.
Big room, clean, nice staff, great breakfast (wonderful pistachio croissants!). Reason to book in this B&M was parking. Indeed, large area for parking around the place. Easy to visit various sites, including Ortigia and Neapolis Archeological site.

A beautifully presented apartment in the main town close to the Basilica Santiario Madonna delete Lacrime.. Bells ring each day at 8.00 and 20.00. very spacious rooms with balconies, staff lovely and very helpful

Nothing, it was all good.
Walking distance to Parco Neapolis and short drive to parking right outside Ortigia. Friendly and helpful staff. Asked for breakfast preference on checkin - nice breakfast selection. Spacious accommodations - had a unit with bedroom, kitchen, living room, 2 balconies. Super clean, great furnishings. Ample free parking right outside the entrance. Would stay here again.

Luana welcomed us with a big smile and provided us with relevant information about the area, such as places to visit, restaurants and more. The place was well taken care of and the room was kept clean on a daily basis. It was a pleasure staying at Zenzero and Limone and we will definitely return in the near future.

2nd floor, with no lift
Excellent location and easy to reach with the car. Very spacious room with ensuite and balcony. Very friendly and flexible owner, gave me a very detailed map of Siracusa and also advised on best places to eat in town. Delicious breakfast.

Excellent location, specially if you come by car, since there’s plenty of space to park your vehicle. The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Luana was also a great hostess.

All was very nice and clean, maybe just to mention it is a bit dated and nothing modern or fancy but still functional and comfortable.
The ladies working here (so sorry I forgot their names) were very helpful and friendly. Easy communication and very responsive by whatsapp for any questions. About a 30 minute walk to Ortigia island. There’s also a free bus that can take you there that picks up every 15 minutes with a stop very close to the B&B. Also very close is the archaeological park. Go early as it gets very hot fast and you can beat the crowds. Free parking just in front of the building was very convenient. When arriving you just continue winding around to the back to the last building. Breakfast was an assortment of pastries, fruit, cereal and yogurt. The pistachio croissant was my fave! Only stayed one night but it was a pleasant stay. The room was very spacious with a nice balcony (although not much of a view except the neighboring building :)) AC was so key during these hot days. Everything was clean and room equipped.

The place is at the 2nd floor and there is no lift.

The girl who work there is really kind, open and positive person. She really care of about her guest. The room are great. The mattress is very comfortable. In the morning we had breakfast with fruits and sweet roll. You can park the car for free and visit all city. One of the best place to stay in Sicily.

There is no elevator, so you need to keep that into account in case you need it.
Once you reach destination is a bit tricky to find the right building, but there is a small sign showing the way. One might think the streets are not safe because is very dark, but we went out at night and we faced no problems at all. The best part was the host. She has everything prepared and gives you a lot of very valuable information (places to eat, how to reach places, etc). The breakfast was also very good.
