Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeThe room lights are yellow but we prefer white ones. While the washing machine and dryer are provided for free, it is located outside of the hotel and we had to brave the cold to do laundry. While the location is near the park, it is far from everything else. Apart from this, the professional staffs made our stay wonderful.
It is near to the Onuma National park which we wanted to visit. The staffs are very helpful to our requests. The hotel space is acceptable and onsen is standard. The hotel provided us a peaceful stay and we enjoyed ourselves.

JapanThe hotel is showing its age, particularly the facilities in the rooms. It was very warm the evening we stayed but the Showa-era air conditioning wasn't up to the task of cooling the room.
Very peaceful location near the Onuma lakes about a 30 minute drive north of Hakodate.

IsraelI received a very very far away room, that I had to take a very very long walk from elevators. On top of it, there was a problem with the toilet, and the washlet did not work. In the night, despite being in an isolated area, I could hear the trucks on the highway - since my room was not positioned in the central part. I suspect that the hotel treated me this way for buying a discount price with booking.com but I think it is a wrong decision. I was disappointed.
This is a beautifl hotel in an impressive location. Love the rotenburo and the dining hall over the swamp.

PolandQuite a long way from the lakes with limited transfers. Isolated from restaurants and shops. Staff have very limited English. Communal bath (Onsen) gets very busy so if you don't liked crowded public bathing better to bath after 11pm. The hotel does not have a bar and restaurant offer is limited and expensive.
If you like Japanese food the breakfast selection was extensive and very good although the western offer was limited. The Japanese bath is spectacular with outdoor baths over looking a beautiful lake that is lite up at night.

AustraliaThe setting in the forest near the small lake was lovely, especially as it rained. The room was clean, well equipped, with a lovely forest outlook. The onsen was very relaxing. The convenience store downstairs was handy, as was the bakery down the hill. Staff were professional, but friendly. We especially would like to thank the bus driver who took us in and out of Onumakoen (to and fom the station and to walk aound the lake ) a few times. Great service! Thank you.

SingaporeThe ensuite bathroom needs to be upgraded. It's old and a little dingy for the rest of this lovely hotel. My bath towel was torn too.

JapanThere is limited to no public transportation or taxis (especially at certain times) so shuttle service, for particularly for big evening events, could be expanded.
This is a beautiful hotel in the middle of the woods and very conveniently located for travel Onuma quasi national park. Facilities were very nice if ever so slightly out of date, staff were exceptional, and food was superb. Highly recommend the course meals at the evening dining facility.

JapanI don’t like the behavior and attitude of staff members. They seems quite rude and I don’t know why. Hotel has to think about it.
The best part of about this beautiful hotel is its location inside a forest kind of area. I liked it very much and specially outside onsen facilities. Rooms space and amenities is all ok. Even you will get best forest views from room only. Breakfast has so many options and I liked it.

JapanLocated a few Km away from JR Ohnuma Kohen station and you need a car or to take shuttle bust to reach there. The hotel is surrounded by forest so the view is very nice. The common bath in the basement is facing the lake with a scenic view. The room is spacious with excellent facility. You can include dinner and breakfast but like any other hotels in the area, you need to book advance.

JapanYou had to really plan your meals at the hotel if you wanted to eat there because they required advanced reservations. This wasn't very convenient as a result I didn't try the restaurant. Also the facilities could be updated. Having USB ports in the rooms would be helpful.
The view in the room and the outside Onsen were great! I was also really grateful for the Hotel Shuttle and bike rentals.

JapanChopsticks cannot be obtained for free. Even if you purchase goods, you can only get the same quantity as the goods. It makes people suspect that your chopsticks are made of gold. A pair of ordinary disposable chopsticks almost ruined the efforts of other staffs.
