Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

DenmarkA little dated but still good
The hotel was very close to the train station so it was easy to find it. Staff was very friendly and we were handed a paper with a couple of helpful phrases. Close to the castle and streets with restaurants Very good value for money

ThailandAir condition is centrall controlled, so it is quite warm in room but you can ask a key from front desk to open the window. Breakfast was average, it was a set not the buffet.
Staff is very friendly especially the old man at front office. He showed me the way to car park by running and guiding me the way while I was driving. Good onsen. Close to station and many convenience stores nearby.

The room is very big and the location is very close to eateries. The staff are exceptionally polite and service oriented. The manager gave his personal recommendation for a good restaurant and the food was excellent!

United KingdomI wish we’d known the hotel exterior was being refurbished - the whole was wrapped in tarpaulin, so no view from the window, which was a shame.
A lovely hotel with a unique, traditional feeling interior. The room was comfortable and quite spacious, with an unusual layout that included a bathroom almost the same length as the sleeping/relaxing area. The hotel has public bathing areas on the top floor, which my husband very much enjoyed using. Breakfast was Japanese style and served as a whole tray of food, though you can also help yourself to some other items such as yoghurt and bread rolls. There is also the possibility of dining in the hotel restaurant for dinner, which is delicious. The hotel staff were lovely - very helpful and friendly, and went out of their way to look after guests. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Matsumoto Station, and within easy walking distance of Matsumoto Castle and other attractions.

JapanOur first room of this stay (607) had two sofas, no storage/shelf space and only two hangers which was a bit tricky. The unit bathroom was also a bit on the small side. The second room (605) had a bit more storage space and a wider bath. Both rooms had city views (i.e. apartment and office buildings) so you may need to request even numbered rooms for mountain views. The hotel WiFi was extremely slow but perhaps that will be upgraded in the future.
We had booked in for a few nights away from Tokyo over New Year's. Hotel New Station is an older building but well-maintained with some nice Showa-era touches (the Seiko clock in the lobby, some of the room design elements, the room keys!). Our room (607) was quite large with two sofas (one could be converted to an extra bed) so lots of space relative to Japanese business/budget hotels. Upon returning to the room on our last night, the room smelled like cigarette smoke which was unwelcome as we booked a non-smoking room. After calling the staff to ask about opening the room windows (you need a key), they could not have been more helpful, explained that it was a building air circulation issue and offered to move us to an adjacent room right then and there. This room (605) was smaller but from a design perspective, fantastic. From January 1st, 2024 the hotel is going to all non-smoking rooms I think so hopefully this won't be an issue for anyone else going forward. The hotel also hosts a running club on site, guests can rent shoes, T-shirts, etc. if they want to join or perhaps just go for a run on their own. We didn't use the hotel's sento bath but it seemed pretty popular.

MoldovaLittle space for clothes if you want to stay for a longer period of time. We stayed only a couple of days, so it was no problem to not unpack.

JapanRooms weren’t completely soundproof so I could hear a lot of conversations outside- although maybe they were hanging out in the corridor, I’m not sure. Either way I had some noisy neighbours but they settled down eventually!
Cute little business hotel right near the station- a great location. Top floor has a sento for those inclined to chill out in a big wooden bath for a while- very nice space. Room was cute and compact, had all the amenities I needed and was a comfortable stay. I wish I’d known in advance about the little running station set up in the lobby- basically you can hire some activewear so you can go for a jog! Really great idea.

IsraelThe private bathroom in the room is VERY tiny. It's okay for one person that isn't too tall, but please take this into consideration. Even though the rooms are non-smoking, there was a constant smell of cigarette smoke residue, and it even came from the vents in the bathroom. Controller of the A/C was a bit off, so I opened the window to my room instead (you have to ask the front desk to give you a gadget to open the window).
Close to the station (castle exit), convenient stores not too far from the hotel, walking distance from Matsumoto castle (about 20 minutes). The hotel is a bit old but really well maintained, staff are friendly and helpful. Shared bath is very nice :) Coin laundry and dryer in the hotel. Room for a single person is a very decent size
