How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We only had one night....
The house is amazing! Every little thing is taken care of. The location was perfect for visiting joshua tree while being close to the retail area. It was much more than we hoped for. Highly recommend!

There could be more storage for food in the kitchen.
The furnishings, the cement floor and it was well equipped. Very comfortable for our family in a quiet neighborhood. The record player and games were great and the yard was so nice. Very relaxing. Good location and close to the park. Our family loved it. The beds were comfortable too. The posting was very accurate.

Really nice house, if anything would say actually better than the pictures. Everything was really clean and the house had a real "homely" feel which was great. Location was perfect for visiting the Joshua Tree Park whilst also easy to get back into the town. Would happily recommend and just wish we could have stayed a few more days.

Everything actually. It’s spacious, comfortable, well equipped, …. 3 comfortable double beds. 2 bathrooms. You feel immediately at home. Instructions are clear. You feel the desert vibe. So relaxing. Supermarkets are not far away. JT park is right next door.

It was a wonderful place to stay. Close to Joshua Tree National Park, beautiful home, kid friendly, all the extras that went in to make it special. We loved the labyrinth, record player, stargazing in the hammocks.

Everything was just perfect! Nothing to dislike.
The location is just a few miles outside the Park entrance and is really perfect. The house is superbly maintained. It’s clean, tastefully decorated, everything that you can think of, or would need is provided. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you?

Loved the location close to Yucca Valley restaurants and coffee. We could have stayed a week here - the house amenities (hammocks, bocce ball, record player, foosball, laundry) made it fun to stay even though much of our time was spent in the National Park. The kitchen was handy with everything we needed and the open space layout made it easy to keep tabs on the kids while we were cooking.

The house is in a development and surrounded by a fence (pretty standard for this area), so if you want to be truly isolated you might want a different property. But the neighborhood is quiet, and we had our privacy. The owners have a lovely picnic bench, a grill, patio lights and hammocks to star gaze.
Proximity to Joshua Tree was the reason for our stay. This roomy home is also pretty close to the main route to 29 Palms, thus there are restaurants, groceries, etc. The house is decorated with guests in mind - throw blankets available, Nespresso machine and tea (thank you!), an amazing turntable and foos ball table, and everything is so clean you could eat off the counters or floors.

If I’m being picky, the ice maker/water dispenser was a little difficult, but nothing unmanageable.
Very attentive to detail, great features made for awesome stay with entertaining nights.
