We didn't allocate enough time on the big island to explore everything available. The Ala Kai Bed and Breakfast couldn't improve anything - our stay was heavenly!

The breakfast was amazing. Very tasty and many of the items aligned with a Hawaiian theme. The room and facilities were comfortable and extended the island theme. The hosts spent a comfortable amount of time with us and we especially appreciated their assistance to plan our tour options around the island. With their help, we saw some great sights, enjoyed some great restaurants, and spent quality relaxing time.

Ala Kai is in a quiet residential neighborhood. The lot across the street is empty except for a nice gazebo and a couple of picnic benches. It is a short walk to be sitting right above the ocean. This also makes for a perfect view from the front lanai dieting breakfast. Erich has great suggestions for Activia and places to eat. We were very comfortable dieting our four-night stay.

We had a such great stay at Ala Kai. Erich is a perfect host, very knowledgeable about the area, kind, hospitable, attentive, made us feel most welcome. The warmth, charm and attention to detail of this B&B is second to none. We will definitely stay again :-)

The spirit of Aloha is alive at Ala Kai B&B. This property is hosted by warm and helpful owners; their ocean-view breakfasts from the upper deck were just right for our needs; and the location was ideal for visiting ohana in Keaau. We look forward to a return to this special, Big Island home!

Gorgeous location! Owners are super personable, friendly, and welcoming. Aloha spirit is strong here! We felt right at home. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. Fresh fruit at breakfast was divine. Garden Oasis right by the sea!

Cell reception wasn't good, but I know that part of the island has bad coverage. I had to leave my room to make a call. Price was a little spendy, but I still think it was worth it, for my circumstances.

Breakfast was a full continental, serve-yourself buffet with good variety. Location across the street from the ocean was very nice, and why I picked it. Swimming in the little pool every night was awesome. It's so very quiet & dark I slept wonderfully. The hosts were fun, welcoming, helpful and very accommodating. I fully enjoyed talking with them. I was visiting a friend in the same subdivision (Hawaiian Paradise Park) and this place was the perfect solution.
