“Unique property, well designed and modern... we absolutely loved the lush surroundings, privacy and general vibe of the neighborhood. Short drive to Hilo. King bed was comfy! Bath tub was used, especially by our happy toddler. Great spot.”

“It’s definitely not the standard bed and breakfast. The owner is very attentive to make your stay comfortable and provides all those kind of stuff and treats that can help you feel at home. The house is very clean, even the shared bathroom. You have access to the living room to watch tv or make yourself some tea/coffe or you can rest in the porch. Breakfast is every day a surprise, prepared with fresh ingredients and creativity.”

“Staying in The Red Cottage was like stepping back in time to the Hawaii of yesteryear. The record player and albums from multiple decades were such a nice touch, and we played different records during our stay. Even the artwork was reminiscent of days gone by which was so special and made us smile. The host greeted us and left a lovely personalized note and welcome gifts, which were much appreciated. A real treat was the claw-footed bathtub, and the host had all sorts of bath accessories available. It was so relaxing!”

“It is like an beautiful oasis in the rainforest! On the lanai you will feel like you are IN the rainforest, while still being in a cosy living room, since it is protected with roof and screen walls. The location is rural and you need a car, but to us this was exactly the location we needed.”
