Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWe were swapped to a different room type because the one we booked was 'unavailable' - they shouldn't be booking up rooms they don't have. The lady on reception was very over enthusiastic and it came across rude and forced. Would prefer warm and friendly customer service. We also heard her dealing with another customer who had a problem and she was being passive aggressive to him. The pool was very small and cold but we didn't mind really as it was just a little extra thing for us, I wouldn't recommend this hotel if a pool is important to your stay.
Good location and a fun young vibe. Liked the snacks you can buy and the games available in the bar.

United StatesThere was a dark dirt spot on our white sheets in which we spoke to the front desk about. They dropped off new sheets but did not take the dirty sheets off nor made the bed with the new sheets. For the price of the stay, I would have hoped to have the staff help change the sheets to ensure they are clean vs. asking the guest to.
Location is amazing! The night atmosphere in the lobby is wonderful with the bar and music.

Germanythe common area bathroom was a little dirty. maybe that was related to the fact that the Lola palooza festival took place in Chicago that weekend. a lot of party folks in the hotel. the common areas were way too cold (A/C) but that’s a general US related topic.

United KingdomIt was the Chicago marathon weekend so price went up a lot (but that's just how it is). Pretty busy during that weekend.
Great location, close to many shops and restaurants (and donuts!). Convenient location if you are running the Chicago marathon - around 1.2 mile to the starting line so it's an easy warm up jog to get there. The riverwalk and lake side path are great for running and it's easy to get to from the hotel. They have free coffee in the mornings at the lobby.
