The building is a little old and rooms don't have noise insulation, so you can hear the steps of the rooms close to you. I am a heavy sleeper so it didn't bother me that much, but it might be uncomfortable for some people.

Location is really good (really close to independence hall), the staff is nice and they have cool activities. I had the luck to arrive when they had a spooky tour and I really enjoyed it.

The kitchen/lounge on the 1st floor reeks of cooking smell (understandable given the very close proximity between kitchen & lounge). Might be helpful if hostel clearly instructed guests to always turn on the exhaust to reduce the smell.

the property is in a strategic yet quite location, enabling us to walk to nearby touristy attractions. The facilities & instructions were clear and easy to execute. Albeit almost full during our stay, the hostel maintains its cleanliness of the common facility & rooms.

Right as we came, it was a great feeling about the place. The staff was really kind and helpful. We were able to store our bags for free (before and after our check-in/out) and go for a city exploration. The lobby was a great place to chill and just enjoy the vibe. We also got free drinks before organized pub crawl. The room and shared bathrooms were spacious and clean. I would for sure stay again when in Philly. Highly recommend

Windows in the rooms are never completely closed so it can get cold at times + the AC is annoying and either very cold or very hot.

Beds need a better curtain system. They tried. For each bunkbed there is a single set of curtains that hang from the ceiling. This is useful if you know the person sharing the bunk (either arriving with them or making friends there or just the correct timing at bed and you hit it off politely) but not if you don't get a chance to chat or come into bed at different times... you both can end up not using it thinking doing so will be a problem for the other person. Shortening the one from the ceiling so it only applies to the top bunk and installing simple ones on the bottom bunks would fix this. That said, this is a minor bit of bonus and clearly not anything that is make-or-break about a place. The beds and the rooms they are in are clean and comfortable and roomy, as described before. There was nothing actually *negative* I could say, just an area of improvement on the good.

Many person dorm was large, tons of room to move around. Not cramped at all. Bathrooms and kitchen had hand towels that were clean and folded with a laundry basket after use rather than paper towels. Kitchen cooking space and storage was also huge, 2 nice stove-ovens. Lots of table space and working counter space with outlets. Clean, very friendly, good location. Beds are comfortable with socket and light.

The only reason why I'm not giving full 10/10 are the showers. Several had a very high pressure and it was uncomfortable to use them, plus there was no space to put your things inside the shower stall apart from hooks, so toiletries bag or your keycard could only be put on the ground. Also wifi kept falling, but that might have been just my phone.

Great hostel in the very center of Philly - but in a quiet back street, so it wasn't noisy. Rooms were nice, comfy beds, each had sockets, a lamp and a shelf, a locker and some hooks. Kitchen was nice too, enough dishes and always clean. It was very social place, people were very friendly, especially on beer nights it was really easy to meet new people. Bonus points for the pool table, free to play. Staff was nice and helpful.

I should have stayed more than 1 night, the best hostel of my whole trip.

Big, clean, nice free amenities all around the shared areas. I arrived late in the night when they were finishing a free cocktail night, so I was welcomed with a refreshing vodka lemon! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Huge and complete clean kitchen. The stairs and floors are named by Rocky movies and you can hear the soundtrack around. Fantastic place! Amazing vibes!

Turn off the tv in the other building. Nobody is watching it and it is all the time on. It is a waste of energy.
