How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Very good Breakfast, many Possabilities from Egg and Meet to Cornflakes and Yogurt. Very good rommes, Parketplaces, etc.. Nice beer and barbeque bar only a few 100 yard's away, where some local inhaitants may talk a bit with you.

The guy at check in didn't seem to know how to use the computer or the computer wasn't working properly. I booked the hotel with booking.com and he said he could see that I booked it but didn't see that I already paid it. I showed him my receipt and confirmation info and he refused to all us to go ahead and check into our rooms. He ridiculously suggested that I call booking.com to find out what was wrong with the the hotel computer while to moved ahead to help a client that was obviously on drugs or drunk find a hotel guest (of whom were never booked). Someone need to tell him that he should never skip a customer that was there first to help another client. And customer service should provide service and make any phone calls related to hotel computer problems of course. He finally got it figured out after about 15 minutes. He should have let us check into our rooms and figured it out later. He could have contact us if stuff didn't check out. Hit approach to dealing with the issue made no sense and we have to wait an unreasonable amount of time of no real reason.
Everything but check in was how it should be. Really good room at a good price and decently clean.

Location was a bit far from my destination for the weekend.
Room was modern, clean and spacious. Good breakfast options, great times for it as well, as other places breakfast will end early. Staff was helpful upon check-in with clear instructions on how to access the facilities such as breakfast, the gym, etc.

I had a king size bed and the sheet didn't seem to fit the mattress very well.
I checked in late an hadn't eaten dinner yet. The man at the front desk was very knowledgeable about good places to get food.

Did not like the surprise additional 300 dollar per room security depo on my credit card. It felt sneaky and unnecessary.
Breakfast was good and above standard. Staff was very friendly. They kept the breakfast well stocked and the dining area clean.

People would smoke outside, and it would sometimes come through my air system. One of the staff was kinda nosy about my coming and going.
Very clean. Nice breakfast. The maids were great. Coffee Machine is nice.

While the room was very clean, spotless, and comfortable, some of the floors and carpets in common areas were unclean.
Wonderful breakfast included Staff were friendly and helpful with directions to local attractions.

The first room they placed us in had an overwhelmingly stale/musty odor and we weren’t able to open the window. They did move us to another room that smelled much better, but still had a strange odor. We were thankfully able to open the window in this room though.
Very nice central location. Close to the interstate to make getting around the area easy. Price was very reasonable considering it’s proximity to lots of the nearby attractions. The breakfast was surprisingly pretty decent. Plenty of free parking on-site.
