the power was out almost our entire first night there and it was a nightmare. there was no hot water or airflow in our room.

The large amount of children

The property is rustic and charming but very well maintained. The outdoor area was nice and relaxing expect there were large amounts of children from a baseball tournament that took away from the ambiance.

Older bathrooms No gluten free breakfast items to start & being celiac there was nothing to eat (I do come prepared though) , but mentioned to front staff & GF cheerios showed up. Hard boiled eggs & fruit would be good options for those with dietary restrictions

I understand that the trend now is to allow dogs at hotels, but in the future I will call in advance and ask some questions before booking any hotel room, So questions, is there a part of the hotel where dog owners are placed and another for non dog owners,? Also pre covid this hotel at a very nice breakfast but no more, get there by 8 am or as soon as possible if not you snooze you lose, they don't restock much after 9 am shut down at 10.

A bottle of water in the room would have been helpful. The cost is only pennies but a BIG bonus.

The breakfast was good for a selfserving eatery. The Location was excellent for me as I was going to have Lunch at the Ritz Carlton the next day. ( it was mediocre/ disappointing/ very expensive)

Some evening entertainment at the weekend would have been great. The lodge is slightly isolated and a fairly long way from the main town, and there were no taxis. So basically nothing to do at night unless you had transport which we didn’t.

Beautiful rooms and spotlessly clean. Swimming pool and jacuzzi were a bonus. Great breakfast. Walking distance to a beautiful beach.

Breakfast is nothing special.

Great location close to HMB old town and most spectacular bluffs. The rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. The fireside/pool area is very nice.

You can hear footsteps from the room above you if you're staying on the 1st floor. The room above us had occupants who had an early checkout, packing and moving all about from 4am. The quality of the eggs and sausage at the breakfast buffet can use improvement.

The pool is large and heated. The hot tub is well situated. The sauna option is nice. The location of rooms to pool to breakfast is convenient. Roasted marshmallows at the fire pitt.

Breakfast, though generous, wasn't great quality. We're spoiled in the Bay Area, so scrambled eggs, bagels, oj, yogurt, cream cheese could have been better. Seemed like they were serving the cheapest of all those things. Advice given about bicycling along the coast didn't mention that a long stretch north from the golf course was muddy, heavily rutted, narrow, and winding. Great for walkers, maybe ok for jocks on mountain bikes, but not safe for the rest of us on bikes. The regular bike path goes north from the parking lot at the end of Poplar St, which can be reached from Highway 1.

Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely room and amenities. Great spa and pool. Gracious grounds. A joy to be there!

The fan in the bathroom didn’t work and the mirror light only half worked. The room next door played music until 10pm super loud.

Discovered ants in the room and bathroom areas. Fun riding the loaner beach cruisers bikes along the coast trail and to visit the beach.

breakfast is located in a distant part of the hotel. on rainy days, guests get wet. the hotel should provide a covered path for elderly people and children. We were with a baby and we got wet.
