Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

United StatesMisrepresentation. Showed pics to misrepresenting bathroom and room to be as one unit. It’s not. Bathroom is in main house. Had to share it with other guest and dog that poops in shower. He never answered text messages ( sent 6), never answered phone messages, asked to fix the Apple TV never did. Had to beg for shampoo and soap which was not enough.

United StatesI did not get to stay when I showed up the owner said booking.com had canceled my Reservation and I had to go rent another hotel.. I don't know who was right or wrong but I will never make a reservation there again and I'm not sure that I will use booking.com again.

United StatesThe bathroom being in the main house took a little bit to get used to, psychologically speaking. It ended up being perfectly easy and no problem at all. We found a pair of socks in the bed, unfortunately. Otherwise, the place was clean, and the bathroom very clean.
The bathroom was very clean. We both had good, quiet, quality sleep. We ended up sleeping with our heads at the bottom of the bed because the bed seemed to be slanted a bit. But the bed ended up being very comfortable that way. Otherwise, Bruno the dog is the main feature!

United StatesDescription of the property is very inaccurate- the private bathroom is not in the Cabana . One has to walk to the main house, access by a code to get to the BR. No beach view or terrace. No living room and no separate bedroom. No water in the cabana.
We had a terrible experience with the homeowner, John upon our arrival and ended up not staying for the 2 nights planned. Upon our arrival the first encounter with John was not an introduction but rather him demanding our zip code so he could process our credit care. The was no place to park but he said he would move his truck. Before doing this he left for about 10 mins in which we assume he proceeded to get paid. He then came out without a word spoken to us moved his truck Then as he was going into his home told us he would send us the code for the Cabana. Waited for another 5-10 mins before getting the code via Booking.com. In the cabana there was no bathroom, sink or water. Noted on the laminated info sheet that the bathroom we were to use was in the main house of which we were then given another code in order to access the main house. Upon my entering the main house his small dog bite me as I was walking to the BR & jumping up onto my right thigh biting thru my jeans onto my skin. Upon my leaving the BR and going out the main door he bite me again on the ankle. My husband then went to talk to John about this & John stated it was impossible for his dog to do this & he had never done this before. I pulled down my jeans & showed him where his dog bite me & he said that is a bruise. Yes I said that bruise is what he just did. At that point we said we were not comfortable with being here , and we did not appreciate his attitude towards us. We then left the pro.

United StatesEmail from host said everything was ready. Upon arrival Cabin was not cleaned/sanitized. Garbage in trash, clothes on floor and bed a total mess from someone having slept in and unmade. This gave us a very uncomfortable feeling. Also, description on booking.com did not clarify AT ALL that bathroom was located in next door main house. It said 'Private Bathroom' Also owner lied and said housekeeping was done by 4 pm, our check in time, but we waited until 4:20 before leaving and still no sign of anyone anywhere near cabana to do cleaning of any kind. We have photos on phone verifying times.
