How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I was staying for a week and wish my room would have had a microwave or hot plate to take advantage of leftovers from eating out, but I knew that wouldn't be there in advance so not a big deal.
The staff were all very lovely and helpful, the daily breakfast was absolutely delicious every day the only thing that would have made it better would have been more flexibility with the timing of its delivery. I was only able to enjoy the wine and cheese hour one day, but it was a nice spread and gesture for the guests.

It was a charming old house with a view of the ocean. The staff were really sweet. We were there for a run and they wrote us a good luck note to wish us we'll.

The light over the bathroom sink was pointed towards the ceiling. You could barely see yourself in the mirror.
Breakfast was good. The location was very convenient- just a few blocks away from a grocery store and restaurants.

The need to drag your luggage from your car and thru the house, up & down stairs, then up again to the suite was not a good route to our upgraded room. I suggest you tell future guests to park in the back parking lot and avoid having to go thru the house to get to the Osprey suite. If you can’t do that, I suggest you have a staff member deliver guests baggage to the Osprey suite. I would not stay there again for that reason. The room was cute, but there is nowhere to place the coffee maker to make coffee. Theres no shelf space for your baggage, your electronics to charge or anything. You need some shelves, counters or tables added to the decor for the room to be more practical for travelers. The wicker looks great but offer no room for anything. Same in the bathroom. It’s an impractical set-up as a functional living space.
It’s a great location and the Osprey suite views are impressive. The delivered breakfast was very nice, but would be better if the delivery time was available earlier, if desired by the guest. The 4PM wine tasting was very nice. The Blue Door home is beautiful.

I wish we had access to ice or an ice machine nearby. And the mattress was a bit firm, but that’s simply my own personal preference.
We loved the historical feel of the property combined with the modern amenities. The location was quiet and close to everything we wanted to explore. The garden was sweetly maintained, and the interior design was stunning yet comfortable too. Breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious and such a cute bonus that it’s delivered right to the door for us to enjoy in our pj’s.

It was spotlessly clean. The furnishings/ lounge are wonderful. Every evening 5-6 there is complementary wine and nibbles. Breakfast Was delicious,uniquely served. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Dim lighting in JD house gives an eerie vibe. Wish there was a bit more seating for folks to feel empowered to hang out during wine hour at blue door.
Aesthetic was nice and did enjoy the ambiance of Blue door.

It is a very nice little house with different rooms. Our room was very cosy with our own fireplace and a perfect view. And on top of al that you get your breakfast delivered in a basket on your door. Perfect!

the property was very nice. a little construction work was being done during our stay but staff was accommodating so that it did not take away from our enjoyment of the facility.
