How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No secure doors or security cams. Would not have felt safe without my partner. The public spaces were pretty dirty. Our room was surprisingly clean but the carpet was questionable enough to keep socks on
Right next to a giant gas station market for easy access to provisions.

Very noisy environment. People in and out all 3 nights yelling in hallway and slamming doors.
Rooms were clean. Bed was comfortable.

There was not a microwave, there were holes in the curtains, it smelled like mildew, someone pounded on our door in the morning before check out but didn't say anything or stay when we opened the door, the lobby area was dirty and not finished, there were beds and things in the parking lot.
The check in process was easy and the room was decent. The shower had hot water which was nice.

Needs updated, bathroom door would stick so you couldn't close it, the smoke detector wasn't put up in the room, just the hole and wire. I was a bit concerned for that.

T.v not working the greatest, most channels were all static Our room, as advertised, did not have frig or microwave Bathroom set up poor, no counter top to put any personal items on. Hole in the curtains Hallways VERY stuffy and hot. No A.C in common areas Not enough lights in the room
Staff was very nice Beds were comfortable Room was a good size We met the new owners, of 3 days, and they were already hauling in new furniture, so I think they have good plans to bring this hotel back to life! Many, many things need to be updated.

The building is really run down, which isn't a huge deal. At first, it was off-putting, but when we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised. We didn't have a phone or alarm clock, which really didn't bother us.
The staff was nice. Our room was also nice and clean.

I didn't like the broken down car wash that took up the parking lot. made it weird to back up and get out of. Besides that it was a pretty nice
The breakfast was great didn't expect biscuits and gravy, Would have like to have some bacon. Room was remodeled since the last time I had visited. Really cozy.

Seems peaceful and quiet . No one bothers you really. And right here close to my local family super helpful after checking in and fixing a slight mix up. And never felt as though I was bothering them . Both very pleasent

l Location: not lit up very well, making it difficult to find the front door. Front desk person didn't speak English very well and it was very difficult to communicate with him. I gave him my drivers license for verification, but he continually kept asking my name. He was on the phone with someone else the whole time trying to get us in the room. We didn't realize they were 'remodeling' and the flooring in the bathroom was taped down. There was human feces in the toilet. There was no breakfast.

Way too expensive for a crappy room. TV picture was fuzzy, advertised a hot breakfast - putting a frozen waffle in a toaster is not my idea of a hot breakfast.

Very clean, comfortable new beds and awesome shower!! The breakfast was wonderful and got us started for the day. The staff was very cheerful and made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely stay here again in our travels.

Should invest in new towels. Need new pillows and have a couple extra available. Don’t leave half full toiletries in bathroom for next guest.
Didn’t stay for breakfast. Desk clerk was very pleasant.

The whole building smelled so bad we could not stay there. The short time we were in the building the smell was so overwhelming it gave us a headache. We requested a refund which they did give us.

The place was a dump. Entrance was filled with old furniture in disrepair. Towels were old, worn, and smelled.
