How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Excellent communication and arrival instructions made getting to and in the property easy. Perfect location for exploring downtown and attending an event at the coliseum. Well proportioned and excellent facilities within the apartment.

being locked out the morning of check out - went for an early breakfast and came back to no door opening and flights to catch . No phone number on wall to ring so had to look back at old emails to find number . Check out was supposed to be 11am but door locked from 9.30

Uncomfortable bed. Lack of towels/wash clothes for 4 night stay. Refrigerator has a broken ice maker that makes loud noise. Neighbors loud.

Cleaning crew was still in the apartment cleaning when we arrived. While kitchen had plates, forks, etc. Sparse on items needed to cook.

We had #258. It wasn't as well kept as #264. Saying that, it wasn't that bad. Someone must have painted, and there was gold paint in the sink and spots on the floor and furniture, which was odd. We told them, and I am sure after we left, it would be taken care of. We also had a loose toilet. They need to include kitchen dish towels. The kitchen utensils weren't as nice as the ones we had in #264. My husband said, a new can opener is needed. 😁
We have stayed two times. All the apartments look the same. Our favorite is #264, which wasn't available. We had #258. We like the layout. The location is great. Secure parking is great too. We will stay there again!

The bed was very springy and not the most comfortable. The floors were also either paper thin or someone was stomping above us. They woke us up with their footsteps slamming on the ceilings at 4 AM both mornings we were there, which was very disappointing because they wouldn’t stop. It was our first trip away from our baby, and we were really looking forward to sleeping in for the first time in a year.
You couldn’t beat the location, it was very clean, gated parking.

The bed was a little noisy and the in the morning, the sunshine came through the glass in the doors. There needs to be some type of "sun shade", for those do not want to get up when the sun gets up!
The location was excellent to downtown Knoxville and to UT. Was able to walk downtown and enjoy coffee and atmosphere. Also, very close to Old Town and the University of Tennessee, which was why we were there to begin with.

I booked this for my son for his trip. He was very pleased with the accommodation and the location. He enjoyed having the apartment and his own kitchen so that he could cook and save some money on food. He would recommend this place to others!

The lock was reset the morning of checkout, if I had not gotten my stuff out of the apartment, it would have been an issue to call and have the door reset to get back in. I was forced to leave the garage key on the table next to the apartment door.
