How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

My party included several teenagers. A team member from the front desk asked them more than once if they were staying in the hotel and recommended that they leave. This happened while I was not with them and my son was upset, because she continued to seek interaction with them after he showed his room key. Not appropriate.
Ashley at the bar was fantastic and very personable! Definitely keep her around. The rooms were comfortable and had great views of the river. It's a kind of a bummer that the CoStar building will be blocking some of those views.

Over $1000 for two nights was quite expensive. Long wait for the one charging station for our EV since the owner didn’t move her car after it was fully charged. Then it didn’t work at first and needed to be reset by a staff member.
Great location for the Richmond Folk Festival. Comfortable bed and good shower. We were so pleased to learn there was an EV charger.

The heat seemed to mess up. Heat was on, then room got really cold. Had to cut it off and adjust but started working ok afterwards.
Bed was comfortable. Hotel was clean and well kept.

The only thing I didn't care for were the extra fees above taxes. I wish Hotels would just put the fees into the cost of the room instead of the surprise at the end. They aren't the only ones that do this. If we were on a tight budget this could pose a problem.
The room was clean with a comfortable bed. Our view was awesome and the staff was wonderful. Hotel is walking distance to Browns island, which makes it great if you will be attending an event there.

the rooms need some updates, some of the furniture looks old. The mirrors where dirty and the bathroom had some orange dirty marks around the caulking.
the lobby is beautiful and updated.

Even with a room far from the elevator, the noise on a busy weekend kept us awake. The doors do not provide any soundproofing.
The rooms are comfortable and clean.

the parking situation is not good at all. if we pay all this money for a room, you would think parking would be free but it was $18 a night which is completely unnecessary. I hope you offer free parking in the future
everything was very clean and tidy I didn't need to do much to feel relaxed. the night staff was nice and explained everything carefully and nicely. I would consider staying again if given the opportunity

Information about hotel services should be available in each room. Also restaurant menu, hours of service should be provided in each room. We had to ask the desk each time we requested to know about services including the courtesy van to local restaurants.
Room was quiet, clean and very comfortable.

Small details but the doors make a terrible loud sound slamming shut (something for parents of young children to be aware of) and the bedding is super soft but poorly fitting (on ours anyway) to the point of being super annoying. minor details

bell staff not available when I arrived at 6:00pm and check in time begins at 4pm.
Clean, nice property. staff was nice and accommodating. needed bell staff available to assist with luggage throughout the day and evening.
