Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is in a nice neighborhood of New Haven, close to Wooster park but also close toe highway - 91 is literally next to it. I can hear the traffic noise during nighttime although the apartment is not directly facing the street.
Close to work place in a walkable distance for a nice day. Spacious and clean. Well equipped kitchen and rooms. Very responsive host and detailed instruction for getting in and leaving the apartment.

VietnamThere are two machines connected to windows of the living room and the bedroom. I think they are air filters, but I don't know how to make them work. Even when being turn off, the machine in the bedroom got cold air from outside to the room. It was okay for us, it doesn't make the room colder, but I think it might make the heater work less efficient.
The apartment was great and the host are supportive. It was easy to get the key. Since there are so many things I like about this apartment, I will list them down here for the audience to see. - Location was great - 15 minutes walking to Yale campus, and less than 10 mins to walk to Little Italia. The area is quiet and safe with so many trees. - The house is fully furnished. The kitchen has oven, microwave, gas stoves with pots, pans, dishes - and even a dishwasher. We cooked a lot during our time there. The fridge is huge too. Basic stuffs like salt, pepper, oil are available too. The coffee machine is great - when we arrive it has like 30 capsules - so even though I drink coffee a lot, we couldn't finish all the capsules. - Sofa is good and comfortable, TV is good with all Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple TV. My daughter said she like the sofa corner best because it offers so many options for movies. - Bathroom is good - and warm. You many need to bring your own shower gel, shampoo (the host provided those, but if you are going to stay for a week like us, it's better to bring ours), and toothbrushes and toothpaste. The bath tub is clean - like really clean. I saw hotel's tub less clean than this. - Bed room is great, warm and cozy. You can change the temperature of the house with the control in the bedroom. There is a door connect to the backyard. - Washing machines and driers are available in the basement. It often take 45 minutes for a wash, and an hour for drying. Machine operation and payment are done through phone app - easy to install for me. - The host left plenty of bath, hand, face towels for us to use. And it looks like there is a spare air mattress if you have guests coming over.

United StatesI wanted to shift my dates, and the response was borderline illogical (something about maid service already being scheduled for certain dates and unable to shift. Basically, I had to cancel my booking and then re-book with the hopes that no one else would get it.
The location is relatively safe. My son and I stayed, so one of us took the bed and one took the couch. Kitchen was nice. Plenty comfortable. The laundry facilities were also nice (done through an app that tells you when clothes are finished). Parking was also easy (street parking--but plenty available).

ItalyThere was a difference in the temperature in the two room. The temperature in the bedroom was low, and this depends on the fact that the window where the air conditioner is installed is not insulated, and lets cold air pass through
The flat is clean and comfortable, fully furnished. The coffee machine was ready to be used with capsules. There were many face towels for us.

AustraliaThe laundry was in a shared basement. It was dirty and cluttered, and down small stairs. Machines were new and clean though.
Very roomy with all necessities. Property was neat and clean for an older style building.
