For a Hampton Inn, the interior is very worn and there was a mildew smell in the room. I booked early and paid an exorbitant price which at time of check-in was 60% more than the going rate, $325 versus $199.

Service was outstanding, everyone friendly and helpful.

The room was ok except for the low toilet which made it difficult for sitting and getting off for an adult. We did, like the grab bar in the shower.

It was close to the visitors center and downtown shopping and restaurants.

The breakfasts were OK but nothing spectacular. The room was neat and clean but it was difficult to regulate the temperature -we couldn't seem to get it comfortable. The shower was wimpy.

The hotel is old but Charleston restricts updates that can be performed. The staff at the check-in area were not friendly. They were very quick with their answers and seemed to be annoyed when I came to their counter with a question. I dealt with 3 different ladies there and their attitudes were all the same.

The location was excellent and I could walk to restaurants each evening for dinner. Being here alone, that was very helpful as the area appeared very safe. I also liked the in/out privileges in the parking garage located there. I was given a plastic card that I scanned each time to get in and out of garage.

The placement of the tv was terrible. Got a stiff neck trying to watch it in the evening before bed. It should be attached to the wall in front of the bed instead of on the dresser.

The room was very clean and quiet. It was cleaned daily. The breakfast was also good.

The location of the hotel was perfect for touring the city. Being across from the Visitor Center and the bus line was wonderful. The room was a nice size and was very clean. The staff, especially Stacy, was very professional , personable and offered any assistance as to the availability of eateries and things to do.

The reception had no record of a modified reservation in my name made by booking.com even though I had prepaid via booking.com. Booking.com insisted that they had spoken to somebody at the Hampton Inn. Booking.com also claimed that they had modified my reservation from March to April at the same reasonable rate. I was forced to share a room with my sister. We soon learned that the daily rate doubled to $625 on the weekend. I asked for a refund from booking.com and they agreed but I am still waiting

It is well situated in the historic district across from the visitor center where they have free buses. The hotel has an outdoor pool (unheated) and offers a free breakfast.

The room was a bit smaller than we thought. I also would have liked to have a refrigerator in the room.

We liked the location of the property. It was within walking distance of restaurants and the market. It was also close to King Street and shopping. The breakfast each morning was very good. We liked the outdoor patio area to sit with our friends and relax.

Just a little nosier than expected. Spring break for lots of people. For some reason, breakfast was not top of the line as expected and paying for parking was not what we expected. Would be nice to have Kuerig in your room instead of old fashion coffee..
