Comfortable stay in downtown San Francisco
    • Business trip
    • Solo traveller
    • King Room - Non-Smoking
    • Stayed 5 nights

    Aircon was a bit noisy.

Location close to 5th and Mission was very convenient for my purposes. Also, very close to Powell St. station for BART and Metro. Room was spacious and clean with a safe and refrigerator. Staff were friendly and helpful.

There was not key for the rooms. Every time we want to enter our room, we have to stop at the front desk and them send someone to open the room.

Parking was outrageous - $65 for the night - I don't care if it's valet. It seems they just take it to a nearby parking lot that they pay for. The car had obviously not been kept in a garage for it was wet from the night before when it had been raining. You also have to let them know 15-30 minutes before you'd like your vehicle. I didn't like the noisy a/c - and I'm not talking about white noise - I love that - I'm talking about the weird noise that they couldn't fix. The pictures make the rooms seem a little bigger, and although for the SF area, this room and shower were a decent size - it wasn't quite as pictured or described on the website. I found myself feeling disappointed upon arrival at first.

Breakfast was good. The room was okay. It was not quite as described on the website and I didn't see the point in paying more for the "deluxe" room. This property does NOT have balconies like it says in one of the descriptions. It smelled very good and had a cute rooftop patio. The place was very clean, and the area in the front of the hotel is right considering where you are (downtown), but the back alley is questionable which is where our GPS took us. We were there for a concert at a nearby venue which was within walking distance. When we walked back late at night we noticed that the place was well lit up in the front and seemed to be free of any bums and filth. Overall, the place was okay but I feel like I could have gotten a better value for the same price elsewhere. Staff was very nice.

Breakfast was ok, but quite standard. No cheese or ham. Just the usual: eggs, bacon or sausage, cereals, some fruit. What I don't like: plastic! I understand the idea of recycling, but it feels rather cheap to eat from paper and plastic.....

Great hotel near the center of SF, 5-10 minute walk to Union Square with all the shops. Nice room. Great staff, very friendly. The valet parking is a good service, but quite expensive.

Parking costs are really out of reality, but so is every parking in SF. Pillows could be more comfortable.

Hot Breakfast was great! they also offer coffee, hot cocoa and tea at the lobby all day. Bed and room size were fine, their hair conditioner is great! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is ok, there are a lot of homeless ppl nearby but we never got bothered by anyone.

Location has a lot of homeless and depressed people as you walk out of the hotel. It was only because of APEC week that the homeless and drug infected area was swept away by authorities and also had a lot of police presence that kept it safe.

Staff was very friendly. They were helpful and always willing to assist any of my needs. They were also very professional and understood many aspects of hospitality.

The surrounding area is a little dicey, lots of homeless people but the hotel does try to keep the area in front of the hotel clean and clear. I didn't have any issues to report that were negative.

I received a nice room on an upper floor, nice view of the San Francisco Chronicle building and the SF skyline. The room is not large but is very well laid out and had everything I needed. I would likely stay here again.

the room was dark, poor lighting, and our view was 3 brick walls, so we didn't get any sunlight. This should be specified online so a person knows what they are getting. There was no concierge to help with sight seeing which was also very disappointing.
