Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOn the first day, we were given a room that had two beds on the 19th floor. We checked in at night so we didn't get the chance to take a look at everything but we did notice a distinct smell of weed emanating nearby. We brushed it off because we were so tired but the next day, we uncovered the sheets and we found stains on the other bed that didn't belong to us. From there we did a thorough check of the room and found other questionable stains on the walls and the curtains. The paint was chipping off the bathroom door and it looks like someone had punched the wall and was "fixed" temporarily. We requested for another room and was accommodated promptly by the night staff so that was good. Other concerns: -Parking is CASH ONLY and is a separate business from the hotel. There's an ATM in front of the parking attendant. -Parking is limited because it's also used by other businesses. After 1am it's hard to park there, so try to be home before 1am lol -rooms have very thin walls so you can hear the other guests -some rooms may need to be renovated; paint job could be better, but otherwise it was comfy for us -some furniture may need to also be changed, the drawers are cute but when you open it, the paint is coming off and has a weird smell. I was so worried about bed bugs. -towels are small; might need to request for more; I had to bring my own towel and my own bath mat -room service is by request; they don't walk around to check up on you if you need anything -no front desk after a certain time and they open at 9am
The hotel was affordable for Waikiki prices and the location was great; it was near food trucks, two 7-11 convenience stores, laundromat (even though we had one at the hotel), and it was near Biki bike stations. it was easy to get in and out of Waikiki. We had a concern and voiced it to a night staff and was taken care of promptly. Other Pros: -Room service is as requested; if you have what you needed in the room and don't feel like being bothered, i guess it's good lol -Staff was really nice -Parking is cheaper than the other hotels nearby. It was $45 dollars per day if you paid in advance and it was $40 for multiple days if paid in advance; BUT IT'S CASH ONLY. -Waikiki Monarch Hotel has their own laundromat. it was $3.50 to wash and $3 something to dry. Laundromat was also kept clean.

PeruWe didn’t plan on using the pool and gym but weren’t given a choice to pay the extra for its use. It was just an extra charge. The facilities were fine, staff felt a bit dismissive but they were fine overall.
Older facility and rooms but they were clean and the beds were comfortable.

AustraliaFor the price paid for the room we felt perhaps some snacks to greet us as we had just flown in from Australia and taken a one and a quarter hour bus ride from the airport only to be dropped off half an hours walking distance from the hotel. The buses and cars don’t seem to mind driving through the water and spraying you? Maybe footpaths are too close to the roads?
We were extremely thankful for the lady staffer who greeted us and settled us in to our room.

United StatesRate I saw when booking was weekday; weekend turned out almost double. Garage is in the same building, but separate business. $41 per day! The hotel says they’d clean room after 3 days - nobody came until we called in a request to clean. Elevators met us with a welcome sign that guests are fined $100 for stealing something from the room. First day water was off for 4 hours; next three - window washing, awaken by cables beating on the window; then an inspection of wind damage; then pest control (we did see big bugs - cockroaches? in the room twice). Paint is pealing in several places. No special (big) pool and beach towels available. Clothes line in the bathroom did not have one end attachment.
We were going last-minute, so this was where we could get two rooms at a reasonable price. The hotel checked us in early, and we got two rooms next to each other. Rooms have both tiny refrigerator and microwave, convenient. Elevators are reasonably fast when they do not stop on every floor. Downstairs is kept clean. There are coffee shop and a convenience store there. Food truck stop across the street is convenient for quick dinner. The hotel lets you use bath towels for the beach, then changes them for clean. Front desk staff were very nice, except one lady that did not want to give us more than one towel per guest (because we would steal them).

United StatesThe bed, the mattress was old and needed replaced. I could literally feel the spring coils which in turn made for uncomfortable nights.
Far enough away from major congestion and noise, the pool and hot tub areas are very nice. The laundry room was clean and allowed for a task to be done without dread.

United StatesThe room was oddly shaped. The furniture and decor was mismatched. The room felt like a motel 6. Dated. Some hallway carpeted areas need to be replaced. Low quality. Only if you need a place to stay and don't care about your accommodations.
The location is close to downtown Waikiki. The elevated pool area was cool. It has some cafes available in the building. The bed in the room was comfortable.
