How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The price was increased due to local graduations-we were over one hour from Lynchburg and still well over $250 per night for the 3 night stay. I feel for IHG members these price increases should be capped at a percentage of the normal rate.
Breakfast was good. Hot food was hot and well stocked. Good mix of cold food.

Hot water was off during the day for both days of our stay. If we were warned about this, we would have booked somewhere else. We didn't like being constantly texted by the hotel asking how our stay was going. Eventually, we had to tell them to back off!
Spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious rooms, good breakfast, nice staff.

The tv wasn’t user friendly.
The property is super clean and well-maintained. The rooms are comfortable and have much room for a few travelers. Mary is the key to this property. Her attention to detail and helping us with our every need was a huge plus! She assisted us with sheets and blankets for the pullout bed, check us in and out with care, as well as helped us with our luggage into the hotel. Give Mary some love!

The breakfast buffet ran out of many items 45 minutes before closing: some were ultimately refilled, but not oatmeal. The pancake machine was broken. They supplied more biscuits after a lengthy wait. Also the deadbolt lock was very difficult to operate in one of our rooms. This was reported at checkout.
Breakfast options were good, but not plentiful enough. Good to have hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and yogurt for health-conscious guests.

The room was spacious and everything we needed was provided. It was updated and very clean. There was a place to put everything and a nice sitting area. The location made it easy to get downtown. We've usually stayed at Hilton properties because I'm a member, but I really loved this HIE....I would stay here instead when I'm in Charlottesville.

The only thing is they need to work a little hard cleaning the edges of the entire bathroom. I am really picky about cleaning, so that was it. The edges had grime , shower and door shower, and holes in the sink. The rest was perfect.
It looks clean, friendly staff, good location. Good breakfast service. It looks renovated.

We love the indoor pool and hot tub. The breakfast was great as well. Over all the hotel itself is amazing. There is an employee here that worked with the food area and she was a sweet heart her name is Tina I believe. Great staff great place. We will continue to stay here.

All staff members were extremely polite helpful. Breakfast had a good variety / selection. The shower in our room was very modern and spacious and has inspired me to upgrade one of our bathrooms at home.

The air conditioning was noisy even when turned “off”, the fan automatically stayed on. This could be a problem if you are a light sleeper. We queried this with reception and were told it was just how the system is built.
A good hotel to stay in whilst visiting the area. We used the fitness centre, pool and jacuzzi which were an added bonus. A good buffet breakfast with plenty of seating.

The hot tub was wonderful! We took my granddaughter who was having surgery the next day near by and we were able to relax and be close to the dental office! It was perfect!

This hotel is well presented and managed. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. and the public areas were very pleasant. The hotel is central to many different activities in the area, with lots of good restaurants nearby to finish the day at.

I had a mountain view, but it was obscured by a Wawa. Which, if I'm being honest, I kind of liked, because we don't have Wawa at home, Wawa is great, and it amused me.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat breakfast because I was in town for surgery, but it looked great!

It was difficult to get cold water out of the sink faucet after warm water had been used say in the shower.

Room rate was a little higher than we generally like.
Easy to find. Staff was friendly and help us with our questions. They ask us twice in the first day and a half if everything was ok. The room was modern and clean. We didn’t use the workout room or swimming pool. We enjoyed the breakfast offered every morning.
