How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This is probably the best place in that area, especially for the price we paid. The staff were very nice and polite, and one of the best parts was the free parking space (especially in LA).

The location is a two edged sword. Noisy at night from traffic and also from deranged people hollering at odd hours in the night. Very bright outdoor lighting! The backside of the bathroom door needed cleaning/dusting.
This is a tidy property on Western Ave just off Hollywood Blvd. Maybe a mile to Hollywood and Vine. Grocery store near by, tons of restaurants. The building we were in was very clean and neat. Our room was not at all cramped. Great beds, clean towels. There was a pool, but we did not try it. Plenty of parking.

Place is very good for visit Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Holyywood Sign. Very nice quiet place with pool in the centre of Hollywood. Santa Monica is 1 hour by car from this place.

Breakfast was not available due to the "Covid" situation. This sounded more like a lame excuse because we were there at the end of June 2022, and all the other hotels/ hostels where we stayed before and after served breakfast without any issues.
The hotel was well placed to visit Hollywood and has easy access to the metro and buses.

Air conditioning was very noisy. This area of LA not the best one.
The hotel stuff was very helpfull. Good parking for cars.

The door to the hotel was not a very good fit to the frame. We lost water for about 1.5 hours one night. My shower had hot water for about 2 mins, turned to cold.
It had alot of stores around it within walking distance.

AC was insanely loud to the point of not being able to use it at night. Wasn't the cleanest but still ok.
The location was super convenient. The pool was good. Beds were comfortable.

The room was very humid, felt like everything was wet. Definitely mold or something black all along the windows. You could hear all the doors open and close from inside your room.
Very convenient location, pool area was nice, beds/pillows were comfortable and a hot shower.

the shower was super hard, there was a lot of noice because of maintenance and/or housekeeping. we thought breakfast was included, but it is not.

Not a good area to be in. Lots of homeless people about; run down area; dirty streets. Didn’t feel too safe. Said breakfast was included, but there wasn’t any - this needs to be removed from the website.
There was a pool, and laundry facilities. Bed was quite comfortable.

Large room, very clean, good parking, good location just below the Griffith Observatory in Hollywood (neighborhood seemed relatively safe; I walked after dark to restaurants; some homelessness in the area).

Chair is really missing on the room, you put such a nice table - it is a waist not to have any kind of chair in order to use this table well. The price is bit expensive for this area I think. The facilities are really old(but working), as well as on the bathroom. Coffee machine is super basic - I wouldn't call it coffee machine.
The location is just great, you have everything close to you. Everyday (even on Sunday) they "clean" your room and replace your towels and sheets which is really amazing. The mini refrigerator and microwave work well. There are enough hot water on the shower. The bed is nice. There is an amazing big table under the tv which is really useful. There is a ice machine free to use that works great. The staff friendly enough.
