How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Elevators take soooo long.
The location of the property is very convenient, just a short block away from Mag Mile and about 15-20 minutes walk to the river/loop. Bed was comfortable enough albeit a little dated/old. Sheets and towels were clean and smelled good. Bathroom was also clean and

The valet was a joke. The double queen room was so small we barely had a walking path in the room. The walls were very thin, and the elevators were very slow for the amount of foot traffic.
The property was in a good location. The front desk was very nice and helpful.

Staff was friendly and arranged a nice and clean room with small fridge and microwave for me. Convenient location, tidy room, quite new facilities in my room, which I see good value for money. Higfhly recommend for your stay to visit Chicago.

You can hear street noises quite clearly, even if you are a few floors up. It didn't disrupt our sleep though, it does quiet down.

Parking is paid Valey $65 additional to the room fare. Bathroom doors are sliding and don’t lock or close completely. The bathroom exhaust fan was not working. The sink was way too small.
The location is perfect! Everything is close by. You don’t need a car to roam around in downtown.

The space is nice enough, but the choices feel more utilitarian and easy to clean than high end. It was still a good place to stay, especially if you arent planning to hang out in the room all day.
Great location and price. Its easy to catch public transit to pretty much everything from here. Everything was super clean. Staff was super helpful. The accommodations were nice, if a bit utilitarian. As others mentioned, they ask if you need housekeeping every day, and if you change your mind after you check in, you can let the desk know. We liked this because we didnt have to worry about staff moving our stuff around while we were gone.

The room and bathroom are extremely small. We had a 2-bed room for 3 people and only one person can walk in the room at a time. There is no closet and no mini-fridge in the room. The interior of the building is old and not super clean.
Location is excellent in downtown Chicago and the rooms had very nice view. The beds were comfy and clean but their height is too high especially for people with leg and knee injuries.

We were on the 9th floor and we still could hear too much noises from outside. The doors of the room did not cover the whole space so you can hear all from the hall.
The location to see the city was great and all was clean.

Only downside about property is the elevators are old and slow. Can be a bit of a wait if busy. The other thing I didn’t realize is that the location is close to emergency medical services, there was a lot of ambulances throughout our stay, they seemed to lesson late night, might be drivers using less sirens. Neither would keep me from booking again because it really is close to lots of attractions and the staff really was excellent.
Staff was excellent, rooms updated and clean.

It is not the cleanest hotel I've been to. I didn't mind too much, but there were maybe several hairs and lint pieces on the floor in the shower.
Location is very convenient! Room is small but comfortable, perfect for one person! For the prime location, the price was really nice.
