How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything was excellent! Highly recommend! No complaints from our family, it's our now go to accommodation for the mountains.
Staff was super helpful and very friendly. All the staff loved my little dog and made every effort to make us comfortable!! Property well maintained and was above all expectations!

Perfect location in Boone! Hotel was very clean & met my expectations. Bed was comfy. Breakfast had a variety of food to choose from. Staff was friendly.

Even though the reception desk staff was courteous, with the exception of a lady in the afternoon of Saturday May 11, 2024., none of them could give any directions to easy and known places in Boone. Their excuse " I don't live here" . But they didn't even make the effort to seek someone else to help. On Sunday May 12, we couldn't find any one at the reception desk ,and we found a gentleman moping floors in the hallway near the lobby. We asked him and off course he gave exactly the same excuse. "sorry I don't know, I don't 'live here". At least he tried looking for some one that could help and he couldn't find any one, not in the reception area, the office. or anywhere else for that matter. If you work in a reception area at least familiarize yourself with points of interest in town, or main Highways or roads and be able to give even if it's simple directions to the guest that come from out of town. At least they should know how to guide you to the hospital, university or other important points of interest and well known in Boone. Know where you are located and how to get to different points!!! that was our only DISAPPOINTMENT and a BIG ONE AT THAT!!! That should be a requirement for people working in the reception area.
Room and room equipment excellent . Wish though that small refrigerator would also feature a small freezer area . Breakfast very good and complete. Bathroom was very clean and wish though, it would feature at least one grab bar, We don't need disabled bathroom or tub but it would help to have at least one grab bar. Loved the fact that they had good coffee bar and juice available all the time in the lobby. Excellent "little food/snack store" in the lobby including some frozen meals that you could fix in the room's microwave oven if needed or wanted. Most of the staff were very helpful, and courteous specially the ladies that mind the breakfast area and also the housekeepers .

The shower pressure was weak.
The decor and landscaping was so lovely. I love the wood and stone accents everywhere. We especially enjoyed the outdoor sitting area.

Stains on the tub , Everything else was wonderful!!
Everything , but the tub was stained but everything was great beside that. Great breakfast !!!! We loved the decor of the building!!! We would come again !!

When we first walked in our room all you smelled was dog pee.
The size of the room, and how the bedroom part is separate from the living room area. The staff is amazing!!

Everything was wonderful. Staff at the front desk was outstanding. Housekeeping was exceptional. Location was perfect. Breakfast was very good and staff was helpful. Very clean and well maintained. There was nothing that we did not like.

The only bad was that the mattress on the pullout needs replaced. My kids had bruises from the springs.
The staff was great, very friendly. The hotel was clean. Breakfast was good. Location was perfect.

Although I may have overlooked but wasn’t expecting to see so many pets and became leary but was happy to find our room fresh and clean.
It was a great getaway and very enjoyable. Nothing is perfect and there are always issues but only small ones are good to know.

I’ve probably stayed here 70 nights over the last 6 months. In Boone, probably the best hotel of their class. Beats the Quality Inn, Hampton Inn etc. Great breakfast and good staff. Highly recommended

The hairdryer is like all hotel hair dryers: barely useful.
The hotel is beautiful and blends well with the lovely mountain setting. The room was roomy and comfortable. The beds are comfortable. There is a little market where you can get snacks and drinks and OTC meds.
