A soft spot. Especially hanging around the pool. Having breakfast brought to the room. The restaurant was unusually good for a hotell. Both for lunch and dinner. The roof top is magic.

it SAS just ond of those great spots you will collect, treasure and always want to return to. I loved it!

I got some conflicting info from a person on the phone with regard to booking and rates but they did apologize and it all worked out. I would have liked to have had a room with a chair and seating area out front but for some reason our villa didn't have that as the others all seemed to?

The staff was exceptional--friendly and helpful. Breakfast everyday was outstanding! Location was also outstanding with a quick walk into town but felt like you were in a private oasis. Parking our rental was so easy right out back with access to property by key card.

One thing— the rooms could perhaps have one or two more hooks to hang clothes. Just an observation.

La Serena Villas exceeded our expectations right from the very beginning at check in with the very friendly and professional staff, offering us a glass of champagne. Since our room wasn’t ready we were able to store our luggage and change clothes to use the fabulous pool. Lunch at Azucar was the best! We were then informed that our room was ready and what a wonderful surprise to find the most charming room with an outdoor patio and fire pit. There was a little gift to our delight a small Tequila bottle with some nibbles for us to share. The room itself has the old world charm quality, carefully chosen furniture and decor. The patio with fire pit and cold plunge bathtub is definitely a bonus because we sat out there every morning to have our breakfast that the hotel provides in a picnic basket. Even that was provided so tastefully! It’s all the small details that really make this boutique hotel and restaurant a very special place and a stand out among the competition in Palm Springs. We travel to all around the world and prefer boutique hotels to large chains and La Serena Villas is high on our list for most charming, elegant, romantic, friendly and loveliest hotels.

It is a splurge and expensive place to stay. The staff took a while to respond to calls and requests. Did not have enough time to check out the spa. Wish there was a hot tub.

Gorgeous property and oasis. Terrific location to downtown Palm Springs. The villas were spectacular and I enjoyed the daily breakfasts. I’d love to come back for another stay.

I had quite a bit of trouble scheduling appointments at the spa. I had to call 3 times to the front desk to try to schedule and never got a returned call for confirmation. I had to persist once we arrived in person and thankfully was able to finally schedule a spa appointment. But even then, I didn’t receive any more confirmation than verbal, so come to the day of the appointment we believed that the appointment was at 4:00pm. We checked in at the front desk at 3:50pm and they didn’t say anything. We waited for 30 minutes wondering what was going on, to find out that the appointments were at 4:30pm. This could have been avoided by an email confirmation of our appointments, and also the front desk clarifying our time when we checked in. Another point. It was our anniversary. It would have been nice to have some sort of acknowledgment of that by the staff or in our villa. Especially since I sort of expected it considering there was an email ahead of the stay asking if we were celebrating anything, to which I responded. But it doesn’t seem to have meant anything.

We liked the stylish design of the villas and the intimacy they provide. We enjoyed the robes and the fireplace in the back providing a relaxing, comfortable and luxury experience. Liked the breakfast delivered to room each day, even though it was a bit inconsistent and we had a issue with someone claiming a basket on behalf of our villa. Lastly, we took bikes for a ride one day which was really nice and easy as a complimentary offering.

La Serena - a pleasing environment, accommodating staff, and a luxury value worth experiencing.
    • Leisure trip

Music at the pool is inconsistent with your mission. People opt to relax, read, and nap by a resort pool, especially one that discourages the inclusion of children. It's La Serena, after all. Unless selected by the individual, all music is an intrusion. Additionally, there is no type of music that can satisfy all, unless it's a concert hall or ticketed performance. Music with any beat disturbs the senses if one is seeking serenity. Finally, in an age where people can select their own preferences, via Pandora and ear-buds, individuals who require music will seek it out; there's no reason to pipe it in.

The breakfast and location were fine. I'm quite aware the cost for the stay was at the high end of competitors; however, the value was fair and I'd visit again. It was a bonus meeting Laura; she was friendly, informative, and absolutely concerned about helping us to optimize our 3-night stay at La Serena.

Excellent adult property in the heart of Palm Springs

Two things, not deal breakers. This is a higher end property, and while it is noted on Booking site the $39/day additional "access fee" is an annoyance. Unclear why post Covid lockouts at this price there are no breakfast options other than the "basket". Granola, yogurt, a cup of fruit, and muffin, coffee and juice. As the restaurant was open for dinner, why not for breakfast ???

The location, staff, room, etc. all well above average. Excellent bar & restaurant on site catering to guests so easy to get a reservation. In the 115 degrees plus heat the quiet and flawless AC performed magnificently. Very comfortable bedding. Location is easy walking distance to restaurants and the major Museum (definitely worth a visit). Nice private pool and a smaller hot tub are available. Perfect getaway for couples, as the property is adults only.

You have to prepay everything including potential incidentals! $39 daily "Resort Fee" added on top of room rate. You have to sign and follow a complete set of rules and regulations.

Current breakfast very nice, delivered to your room quickly. Includes fruit, juice, yoghurt, granola, coffee and a Costco croissant! I heard the pre-covid breakfast was better. On site restaurant very good.

Unfortunately, we did not walk away from our stay thinking that it was worth the money. Although the property is beautiful, I think it takes a lot more than aesthetics to qualify something as a Four Star resort. The bathtub outside, that is a huge lure to book, was dirty both at check in and even after house keeping came the next day, and other reviewers had the same complaint so it seems that it’s neglected during the cleaning. The breakfast “basket” came in a paper bag with minimal contents, we opted to not receive it the second day. Our license plate got stolen in the middle of the night from the front of the hotel where we were parked and we reported it to the manger who said she would look at the camera footage, and then we mentioned it again to the front desk at check out, and were told the manager would get back to us, and we never heard from anyone. I contacted the hotel twice about a charger I left in the room, never heard back. And yes the restaurant has a lot that is on the menu yet unavailable, including ketchup ? Priced at luxury prices, but misses a lot of extra touches and attention to detail that makes a hotel feel truly luxurious.

Adults only, small, quiet, large rooms, walking distance to the downtown area, well decorated & nice looking property.

For the price I would expect a higher level of service from the staff. Rarely came by to check on us at the pool, was several hours before they even replaced there pool towels… Room did not get cleaned and called them to come by and clean and when they did they literally pulled up the sheets and brought new water (didn’t take out trash, provide new drinking glasses even though ours were dirty or replace the towels that they said they would replace if they were left on the floor)… restaurant was not good and barely had any options on the menu.

    Really cute property. Great location.

I would expect more accommodations, including breakfast and coffee included in price considering the high daily rates. Onsite spa is a little misleading too. There is no spa, but a room to provide services by on-call providers//non employees and prices are very high. Loud music by the pool is not relaxing and prevented husband and I from spending time there.

Accommodated early check in and staff extremely helpful and polite. The grounds are beautiful.

I thought the villas needed a bit more comfortable soft finishings eg rugs and cushions - it was a bit spartan in decor. Also the continental breakfast needed serious improvement - either upgrade it or remove it altogether

The location was excellent and so was the restaurant, bar and pool area
