Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe property is close enough to the road that there is some road noise.
We stayed at the Misty Valley Inn because it is centrally located to all the places we wanted to visit in Olympic National Park. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleaniness of the room, the modern accommodations, the friendly service and the wonderful breakfast.

United KingdomThere is nothing not to like.
We loved our stay. Our room, the French suite, was very clean and comfortable. The view from our bedroom window was like a painting, trees covered in moss, like your own private miniature forest. Breakfast was very tasty and Dorinda spoiled us with delicious treats. The weather wasn’t warm when we were there and sadly we couldn’t sit outside in the varanda whilst having our breakfast. Having said that, the large windows in the breakfast area allow for outstanding views of fir trees in the distance, with a lovely cloud of fog hovering above them. As if that wasn’t enough of a treat, there are also feeders for the birds, including hummingbirds, so you can watch the birds as you enjoy your coffee. A real scenic way to start your day. Dorinda was very attentive and gave us lots of great suggestions for places to visit. Her suggestions were like gold nuggets which we would not have known of had she not suggested it. It added to our amazing experience visiting the Olympic National Park. We highly recommend Misty Valley Inn for anyone who wants a very clean, comfortable and beautiful place to stay whilst visiting Olympic National Park.

United StatesGreat morning nice staff my only encouragement would be that the breakfast was stone cold. I had the crepe the berries were completely frozen and the crepe was stone cold and felt like it was leftover not cooked on the spot. The ratio of berries was too much (and frozen with ice) to the size of the crepe. Last thing the person serving was very nice and friendly. It’s just too early for me for where are you going where are you from etc. in all fairness some people might think that’s friendly?
Nice location bird feeder etc, lived the desserts and libation selections. Very nice staff all of them.

United StatesThe Breakfast tables were set up for a couple at each table. One of the things I like about B&B’s is getting to know the other travelers. But I guess some people might object. The following is nitpicking because there are so many hikes in the area, but there was no place safe to walk nearby (without driving to it). But as I said - that’s nitpicking.
Breakfasts were over the top. Excellent, tasty and way too much, but we got to-go boxes. And the sampler-size pastries (tiny lemon bars and cookies) were a wonderful. treat in the afternoon. The room was small but cozy. The common areas - the deck, TV room, the dining/living room/office were all very nice and welcoming. I appreciated the sound machine to help me sleep. And the common refrigerator was helpful.

United Statesfirst, the setting is stunning - which you notice as soon as you drive onto the property! Tim and Tricia had notified us in advance of what to expect, food options and room codes- which made check in so very easy! the meals were exceptional - and met my needs as someone who can not eat gluten or dairy! plus the desert bar that is open 24-7 had food for me! I can’t begin to express how relaxing and comfortable it was to spend 4 nights at the Inn. I will recommend to all my friends.

United StatesThis question is really not applicable to our wonderfull experience at the Inn. It was great. Regarding the charge for our stay, it was very appropriate for the excellent service, the wonderful breakfast and the very comfortable accomodations provided.
All in all, a truly excellent stay. The location is perfect to explore the West and Northwest regions of the Olympic Peninsula and the Olympic National Park with its mountainous inland and its coastal portions. The Inn itself is immaculate and offers wonderful well appointed rooms with a large communal balcony giving a tranquil view over forested lands. Breakfast is excellent with a large variety of choice and served personally in a cozy breakfast room, in which every table allows an unobstructed view of the forested valley. Breakfast is also, weather permitting, served on the large balcony. Internet speed is great as well. Check in and pre-arrival communication is by text messaging, which was always very timely and reliable. During our stay, availability of the Innkeepers by text messaging was excellent, with immediate acknowledgement and answers provided to every message sent. This Inn will be our lodging to retun to when we will revisit this area of the Pacific Northwest.
