The cleaning staff did a beautiful job in the shared areas and the beautiful staircase. In our toilet area however, there was dried on fine droplets of something with a slight orange cast(almost like vomit splashed up?) all over the inside of the pocket door and on the base boards too. Kind of a gross over sight. The inside of the tub didn't look super clean either. The rest of the room and the bed seemed clean. Otherwise, while it was a nice room and a charming Victorian house, it was sad that they ripped out most of the original charm (besides the front door, main staircase and stained glass windows, which were gorgeous). Everything else had been “updated” to cookie cutter, so called modern hotel style decor. I guess that’s just a personal preference though :/

Complimentary coffee/tea/drinks set up in the foyer was a nice touch and the staff at the front desk was very helpful in suggesting restaurants nearby

I wouldn’t recommend this place to a plus sized couple. The rooms are very small.

The room was super clean ! Staff was great. They had complimentary beverages like soda & coffee that was available all day. Location was very close to the boardwalk and the facility was extremely peaceful.

Walls are thin and noise traveled easily inside and outside the building

Our room has a very cool looking shower in the bedroom itself.

-Back parking lot and driveway/ramp was too small and difficult to get in and out of unless other cars were absent. Even difficult for compact cars. Best to have guidance from passenger. -The pillows weren't the greatest, but didn't stop us from getting a decent night's sleep.

-Location close by to many places/attractions in Santa Cruz -Staff was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful -Room was very clean -Outdoor lounge area was pleasant and relaxing

Wi-Fi was horrible. Cable TV did not work. The hotel is quite noisy with outdoor noise and upper floors. Fireplaces also did not work.

Location is great to boardwalk and walkable to downtown. They had a lot of nice amenities in the lobby. The area is walkable with nice paths nearby.

Street noise and noise from other occupants every time they ran water or flushed the toilet. This is an old victorian so not much to be done about it. If you are bothered by these things it is probably better to find more traditional accommodations.

The room was well appointed and charming.

Loved the look of the fireplace in my room even though I did not use it. Room was spacious as was the bathroom. Also appreciated the keypad on my door to my room that switched up the position of the numbers every time I entered my code. It was a 6-7 minute walk to the boardwalk, super convenient!

Towels were rough and standard hotel issue. Outside steps need rubber strips to avoid slipping when wet from rain.

The staff hostess was very kind. We loved the beverage amenities and comfortable room. The perfect place to spend a rainy evening

The location was perfect, the place was cute and clean, and the staff was polite. The bed was not very comfy, and the room was very cold despite of the room heating. Maybe additional blankets would have helped, but the front desk was closed at night.

Being on the main floor and the fact that it is a historical home turned into a hotel made for alot of noise when people checked into the room above us. Sounded like a family of horses were up there moving around furniture.

It was a beautiful hotel the room was amazing. Only thing was I was unaware that the shower was in the room and not in a separate bathroom so showering was a little awkward. In the future if you book a room I would make sure you get a room with a on suite bathroom that has a door. Other than that it was nice.

As always, the price can always be better. Until it's free, but that won't happen. The wife says "no elevator."

The price & the area were great. The repurposed Victorian house was cool. Free non-alcoholic beverages was also nice.

The door in my room would click back and forth all day/night because of the wind I had the window open this was in ste 12. It was annoying but I eventually got used to it! That was my only complaint!

    Perfect location comfortable and spacious!
