How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bathroom was noticeably old but well maintained. The water from the shower had very low pressure.
Great location, right next to the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Bed was very comfortable. Extremely cheap price for the location and the quality shown!

We loved it!
We did not have great expectations -- we had booked a cheap motel for one night prior to heading for the campgrounds at JTNP. We were pleasantly surprised!! Ravi, the owner and host is delightful -- he was so gracious and helpful. The room was large, clean, and comfortable -- we loved that the room had a backdoor out to a very charming garden area. The motel -- a throwback to the 1950s is conveniently located with walkable access to the local restaurants and shops.

Run down facilities, the hot water in the shower was a trickle.

No glasses or cutlery etc in room.
Great location to get into JT Park early and avoid the queues. Saloon Bar next door was a real bonus. Popular, good food and service.

Facility is older. Bed was ok. Bathroom very small. All equipment operated properly. Everything fundtional....
The facility is older and I did not find the unique garden inviting but it could have been out of commission due to it being January. Located right in Joshua Tree so convenient to Western entry to park.

The water pressure in the shower was a little weak.
The hotel is right where the action is in Joshua Tree! So close to the restaurants, coffee shops, market, gallery and clothing shops. Safari Motor Inn is very charming. It’s very quiet and the bed were super comfortable. Nice heating unit, we were not cold at all even tho it was freezing outside. Fun little garden in the back.

The room was sparsely furnished.

It's an older hotel that shows some wear and tear. It seems to be fairly priced for the area, but we stayed in some places for less that were in a little better condition in other towns. The shower tiles were so cute, but the water pressure was a little lacking. Good enough. We got a good night's rest.
The location was excellent for going to the shops and getting something to eat and being central to going to the park in the morning. The host was helpful and even developed a map of local businesses and services which was nice. We were not there for pool weather, but the pool area and back patio are really fun. Full of kooky figurines and plants and decor. Whimsical. The room was clean "enough". Easy parking, right outside the room.

Water pressure and hot water temperature were lacking.
It had all the amenities needed for a single staying overnight. Satellite TV, frig, microwave, air conditioning, king-sized bed, etc.

The outside is pretty but swarmed with ants. The pool is never open.

The location was perfect! Walking distance from all of the little shops and nearby Joshua Tree National Park. Ravi was exceptional; he was so kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again!

Personal touch from the owner. Very accommodating, trying to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Great location for stargazing in Joshua. Backyard garden where you can chill out and in the evening enjoy the light show.
