Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesKitchen floors need redone big time! Water damage throughout the house especially the kitchen floors. Hot tub deck is very iffy. Doesn't seem safe. The top deck had black rubber and nails on it. Not people friendly on that deck! Master bedroom bed very springy. Middle bed was the best. Carpets need cleaning, they feel and look dingy and even crusty in some places. Kitchen table needs work, very worn and Doesn't even go together completely in the middle for the leaf. The table was sticky because it needs to be refinished. Refrigerator had multiple broken pieces to it. Hot tub jets didn't hardly work. Won't return to this property.
Big tub on 3rd floor was nice and heat works great. The cleaning person does their job well, but owners need to perform maintenance/remodel.

United StatesThe microwave was broken - could not open it, Refrigerator shelves were broken, the freezer smelled like fish, the outside tray on the refrigerator had slime, blinds were broken on windows and some windows or doors the blinds were missing, could not pull down the blinds, some windows did not close - had a draft - could see light - cold air, downstairs entrance door - at the bottom - you could see light, cold air coming in- the game room and bedroom were freezing. the kitchen floor had not been swept, the 2nd-floor bedroom had not been vacuumed unwrapped candy under the bed, the downstairs bedroom had unwrapped candy stuck to the dresser, the top floor bathroom tub was not clean, the tub had an empty shampoo bottle, the towel bar bent, middle floor bedroom closed door would not close and was full of window screens and maintenance items - could not use the closet. Outside at the entrance door was a bunch of leftover shingles from replacing the roof. The middle floor ceiling had a huge water stain from a leak. Kitchen table leafes could not be pushed together - gap between, on the 2nd floor at the stairs was a large hole in the wall. We have pictures!
We were in a house, breakfast was not provided unless we wanted to cook. Location was good.
