To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United States of AmericaWhat I didn't like was my experience with booking.com - the hotel was fine - they never received my booking so I had to rent a room through them. I spoke with booking.com on the phone to cancel - I have not received my refund yet - booking.com has hung up on me 3 times per day. I have spoke to the manager with them twice - I asked to email me what they email the hotel and they did not.
When I got to the hotel they did not have a reservation for us. I showed my confirmation from booking.com and they would not honor my confirmation booking. I had to buy another room and pay twice. The lady at the front desk who I am guessing was the owner was rude - said I needed to call booking and talk to customer service. I have yet to get my money back from booking.com due to waiting on Super 8 to write a letter releasing my first payment. She said she did not get the booking when she was on the phone with booking and they emailed it to her and she swaid well I got it now but I hadn't got it before - still wouldn't honor the booking - told me to call and ask for a refund -I still have not received my refund.. my bad experience was with booking.com - I will not use them again - I will just call the hotel - any hotel - direct

United States of Americathe vibe was not totally our taste, maybe a tiny bit dingy, but again, for the price we paid, it was totally fine. Plus, it was just a stop-over for one night before heading to Tennessee, so we were not too picky.
The lady I spoke with when I checked in at the front desk gave us a free upgrade from a double full to a double queen room. Very much appreciated! The breakfast was decent. It would have been nice to see a bit greater of a selection, perhaps some sausage and eggs, or something similar. However, for the price I booked for, it was a very sufficient breakfast.
