The kitchen facilities are very much lacking, all outdoor and it’s not really set up for cooking (saving money). Hard to find even a bowl for cereal at times and easiest to use just for microwave and/or toast. Also, no indoor social space except for benches at reception area. As it was raining heavily during my stay, I stayed in my room more than I would expect in a hostel. Also, there are no personal storage facilities to lock up anything of value so travel light, no wardrobes or other personal storage (with or without lock).

The shower was difficult to use because the spray head could not be moved and it hit me in the head only, making it difficult to wash and rinse my body. Parking was very tight.

I liked the location and price. I loved being able to borrow chairs.

It would get a bit loud when other guests walked by at night, however this wasn’t a problem during quiet hours.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I like that they let you drop off your things before check in. We were able to grab lunch and drinks when we arrived early. They had free rental items, such as snorkeling gear, surf boards, inflatables, towels, etc. They provided free coffee every morning (and it was actually good). There are food trucks near by with amazing food. It was a 5 minute walk from the beach. The rooftop was chill.

The staff was incredibly friendly, and they provided us with excellent service. The amenities were top-notch, particularly the freshly prepared morning coffee. This hostel exceeded my expectations, making my stay both enjoyable and affordable. I’m already looking forward to returning in the future.

Beds could use a blanket. Tours are important for socialising but the ones organised by hostel are sub-par compared to what is out there for the same money.

Nice rooftop for socialising. Was basic but comfy enough. Hard to find any value in Hawaii but this was one of the cheapest options and would stay again.

The parking situation was difficult. I paid for one of the 9 parking spots the hostel offered (20/night, 100 USD for my entire stay - so not cheap) and a few times there was no spot left, I had to park somewhere on the street to get to the reception to tell them, meanwhile somebody almost called the police on me bc of where I had parked but there was no other solution. The receptionist came out and after some standing around one car had to park somewhere else but she said he was only there for a short time (I saw the car there for at least 1 hour if not more). Turns out the driver was the boyfriend of the receptionist. The receptionist even said she couldn't do anything about it (it's her job though). They should control the number plates on a regular basis and make sure those who paid can park at all times. And not the boyfriend of someone who works there. The beds are super noisy and you feel every movement of the person above/below you. The A/C is very loud. The blankets are super thin (without A/C this would be okay but most guests are Americans and turn the A/C to full power all night long, so it's freezing). The shower is a little gross, the head wasn't decalcified in a decade it seems.

The location was really good, 5min to the beach. While I would say the accommodation is expensive for what you get, the location probably evens that out. Hawai'i is just not a cheap place. The other receptions was also very friendly and helpful.

No food stores close by. All the restaurants very expensive. Kitchen equipments in bad condition. Hostel was using the same washing machine and dryer to wash all the linen and towels. And customers had to use it in the evening when they had finished.
