How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The view from the window is not great, but not a deal breaker.
The old world charm of the interior. Every furnishing seems carefully curated. Very well designed. Room is beautiful and clean. The 24-hr gym is convenient and also well equipped. The front desk is friendly, helpful and personable, so is the doorman.

The room was cold our first night despite turning up the heat. I barely slept. Maintenance came the next day and fixed it but it still didn’t work well. It was better than night one but since we were checking out the next day, it was manageable.
Very clean, pleasant staff. I’m not sure if all the rooms were as big as ours but our room was spacious and the bathroom was quite large. Nice shower. We were close to our son who lives in the North End. It was only a 20 min walk and close to Quincy Market.

I took the train in from NYC and the hotel was a short 10 minute walk. The location was convenient and walkable to all the sites I wanted to checkout. Check-in was smooth and pleasant. The property was clean and the rooms were spacious. The gym was also quite nice for a hotel, a pleasant surprise.

Staff, location, bar/restaurant and the breakfast were all superb. Easy access to the rest of the city either on foot or a short taxi ride away. We booked king rooms and they were excellent, spotless clean had big bathrooms, also very quiet so sleeping was never a problem.

What a fabulous hotel! We loved the location & the on-site cafe was great for a quick breakfast. We stayed in a Double Queen Suite which was perfect for a group of 4. The sofa bed was comfortable too and the room was very spacious. The staff were outstanding, so friendly and helpful. The complimentary drinks in the lobby on some evenings were a lovely surprise when we got back from our day exploring. Cannot recommend this hotel enough! Shout out to the concierge and the doormen who were especially helpful with our many bags. Would stay again!

Coffee shop could have had more for children. They didn't even have milk.
Rooms were spectacular. King suite perfect for parents traveling with a toddler, however the toddler didn't sleep well. Needed to sleep in between mom and dad. Shades perfectly blocked out light. And noise level not really a problem. Didn't hear any street celebrations despite Bruins win in playoffs. Location perfect. Most attractions within walking distance. Check in with Edina Mesevic was super efficient, especially since part of the party staying arrived a couple hours later. And Concierge, Ali Erremich, also very helpful

If I were to rate my first visit to any given city I've been to, by the quality of a hotel, the warmth and professional attitude of its staff, I'd hands down put Boston and The Dagny up there, at the top... Lovely, classy, elegant city replicated in this hotel. One of my best stays ever. Loved every minute of my stay. Fully recommended

Homeless hangout by the back door of property.
Doorman Eddy- personable and greeted us each time. Gave us great recommendations. Loved the text ap and follow up. Needed a pillow and was delivered promptly.

Very disappointed there was no kettle or tea bags on the room to have cup of tea in the mornings.
The property was gorgeous, the restaurant seemed very expensive. There wasn’t a great choice for breakfast.

Nothing, everything was great!
We stayed at The Dagny for 3 nights, for the Marathon. The location was great, the rooms were huge compared to another hotel we’ve stayed at, everything was clean and modern. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We actually had a bit of a hiccup with our Booking.com reservation and it had been “cancelled” upon arrival, but they were able to sort us out and get us the same room at the same price as we had booked.

Everything was great, nothing not to like. Maybe a vent in the bathroom would be better. .

On Sunday the service in the restaurant was poor. We had to wait longer than expected to place our order.
The food in the Fin Point restaurant was excellent, a fine dining experience.

The first room I we given there was an issue with the bed. We had to be moved to a new room which they upgraded to a Suite.
