Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Parking was very expensive. There was 1 cup of coffee per person in the room, then we had to stand in line and purchase expensive coffee at the adjacent restaurant.
Loved the daily complimentary drink at the bar. Very elegant and unique decor. Great location and easy walk to restaurants, historic attractions and public transportation. The room was excellent. The work out room was good.

I was not happy with a $200 deposit. That caught me by surprise. With a $400/night rate, a free breakfast would have been appreciated.

The mattress wasn't great, and should be replaced. Just a bit squishy on one side.
The room was lovely, comfortable, and quiet. I was upgraded when I arrived, at no additional charge, which was nice. Location was good, close to lots of activities and restaurants. Staff was kind and friendly.

for one night - nothing to complain about
Only stayed one night in the hotel. location was great - walking distance to South Station (train). The room was spacious, the bathroom big, with everything you need. Everything seemed very clean - I felt well in the room. The free water and snacks in the room was a nice plus. Furthermore, I enjoyed the complimentary drink at the hotel bar. The staff at the door and at the reception was professional and very friendly. Nothing to complain about.

We really can’t think of anything.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location of hotel perfect. Comfortable bed and linens were very nice. We were upgraded without our asking and had no complaints. We were even given a wonderful bottle of wine. Thanks.

City Views: The views of the city from the hotel are awesome Friendly Staff: The staff are incredibly nice and helpful, enhancing the overall experience. Special thanks to Ismael Spacious Rooms: The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, offering plenty of comfort. Free Bikes: Having access to free bikes was a fantastic perk that made exploring the city much more enjoyable.

The customer service from the doormen to the reception desk was excellent. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and really seemed to enjoy their job. The complimentary wifi, water and snacks were a plus. Our overall visit was a great experience and these are the things that stood out to us.

The street outside was quite noisy, but on request the hotel moved us to a room at the back of the hotel on the second night, and it was much better for us.
Located in the heart of Boston, not far from Boston Common. Good restaurants all around.

Delighted with our stay at the Godfrey. The location was perfect as a short trip from the airport and centrally located to shops, bars and restaurants. It was also in close proximity to Boston Commons and subway stations. The room we selected was extremely spacious and spotless. The complimentary bottles of water were a nice bonus and we used the coffee shop connected to the hotel for some quality refreshments to start each day. Staff were very friendly and happy to help if you needed anything. Would love to stay here again if we return to Boston.

Closet/armoir was in a narrow point in the room, outside the bathroom, so kind of a choke point when traveling with two. Not many hooks for hanging up towels, etc.
Very well put together - interesting decor, not overdone. Changing floor mats in elevator (Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening) a nice touch. High quality fixtures and well run overall.

If there’s anything to criticize it would be that the view was of an old and rickety part of the building. Also just worth noting that the staff at the coffee place was nowhere near as friendly and attentive, sometimes even aloof and negligent.
The minibar amenities (water, snacks and coffee were included), the two complimentary cocktails for happy hour, the door staff was amazing!, the workout facility had lots of options and the sparkling flavored water station was the bomb, and the craft coffee connected to the lobby.
