How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Being picky - the beds could do with an upgrade they were below the rest of the rooms standard. Guest washers need to be cleaned a little too
Great clean and spacious hotel - the location suited us fine and was close to the beautiful historic area. The lady on nights was so helpful and accomodating. The rooms were so clean and new. Size of the room surprisingly big. While we didn’t use the pool - it was great to see a disabled access to the pool was available for those who need it.

The smoke detector wasn't in the socket just the wires hanging..had something on the floor under the a/c..the sheet, pillow cases, & a towel had black stain marks on them. The tin noise from the beds were a Lil annoying but everything else was good!

The address on Booking.com is not correct. The property is on NORTH Lakeshore. There is also a Lakeshore Drive in Lake Charles, so the address given took us to a parking garage. If we hadn’t thought to use the hotel website for new directions, we never would have found it.

Ms. Mary was a delight, she should be running that place!!! She knew and was on top of every task far more than any other staff member we encountered :)

I would have liked more options at breakfast. It is like every other hotel breakfast.
Staff gets an A++! Everyone I spoke with was friendly, professional and knowledgable. The room was very clean and freshly redone (paint, floors and bathroom). Furniture seemed outdated but clean. They are in the process of redoing the hotel, so I guess the furniture is next. Didn’t matter a bit as far as comfort. Also loved how close it is to the lake. Spectacular location!

The coffee was a bit weak, but that's really a matter of individual taste.
Very recently refurbished rooms and a very nice GM who was very present around the front desk ensuring everyone was happy.

Some areas are a bit outdated and under renovation. Work out room needs updating. Breakfast area was a bit sloppy in am.
Great Location. Facility is former Quality Inn and undergoing a lot of renovation and updating. Our room was large and updated. Lobby is sparse. Some areas like hallways and stairs are outdated but assume that this will be updated. Staff very friendly when we arrived. Great value.

the pool area was disgusting, we couldn’t even bring ourselves to go in the water. The gym equipment was very dated and the AC was in a locked box so it was boiling hot in there. the carpets need replacing especially on the stairs very dirty
the room was nice spacious and clean. not much around the hotel without driving. nice enough if you don’t plan to use the gym/pool facilities

I thought the property had no pets but we saw three come running through the lobby.
The breakfast was good but there were flies swarming near the trash can. We stayed here in April and our room was great. This time it was not as clean. We did stay on the ground floor whereas on our last stay we were on upper floor. The soap in the shower was empty and the floor of the shower was not clean. The toilet seat was broken. We love the location and even recommended for our daughter and her two daughters to stay here a well. We were in town for a graduation.

A bit dingy in common areas like door handles on side entrance doors and elevator smelled musty. Nothing major.
Booked two rooms for overnight stay. Great staff, delicious breakfast, clean, comfortable and roomy rooms with comfortable beds. You can tell the rooms were remodeled. Across from beautiful lake.
