How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

the hotel design was great and felt trendy. we walked about 15 minutes to the historic downtown area from the hotel. rooms were great and modern.

The only thing I wish we knew about prior to booking was the pet fee and daily parking fee, but otherwise, the stay was perfect!
Clean, modern rooms, wonderful breakfast, and walking distance to downtown Asheville.

The only thing I don’t like was that our room faced a busy road and I could hear the cars and semis all night, pretty loudly.
Comfortable bed, Big bathroom and shower, modern and clean. This was a suite and has a kitchen as well. The continental breakfast was very nice with lots of options

Breakfast had no option for vegans like me and my family other than bread. No fruit salad, just bananas that too was out times. The front desk staff could behave better. They charge for a washer and dryer.
The kitchenette was good to have as I was traveling with a baby. I also liked the high ceiling in the 1st-floor rooms.

The onsite parking deck is small and you may have to park next door in a gravel lot.
European design but more space. Very clean and well designed hotel with efficiency apartment style accommodations. Modern IKEA-like styling. Good breakfast and location.

A minor downside was the traffic noise from the highway. Also the breakfast was just OK. We came down late and some items were not available and others were cold.
We loved this hotel. Modern, very clean and comfortable. It made us wish we were staying longer. Easy walk to downtown.. lLiked that we could park underground to protect our car and it was easily accessible by elevator.

Didn't realize I had to pay for parking until I arrived. I guess it was in the fine print. If I had known I would of opted for another hotel, however, I liked this one, so I am glad I didn't know.
Breakfast was great with lots of options. Rooms were spacious and all the furnishings were new. Not a fan of having to pay for parking ... I guess I didn't realize that ... but that didn't soil my experience with the room and the breakfast.

Minor damage to walls, but it is a new enough hotel not tel feel run down. The hotel parking costs extra.
It was a nice breakfast, good selection. We liked having a kitchenette in the room.

There is a $15/night parking fee buried in the fine print. This seems to be the latest grab by hotels, and it annoyed me, but even with that it was still far less expensive than most other downtown hotels.
We were looking for a place for a spontaneous weekend trip to Asheville. This one seemed affordable and the reviews were excellent. But what about the two-star designation? This hotel was fantastic! It’s new and clean and modern. Breakfast is great, bed comfortable, and staff very helpful. This is NOT a two-star hotel—I’d add at least one star more. It’s a 5 minute walk from downtown, and right near a Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and Harris Teeter, so you can make good use of the well stocked kitchen. Some have complained about highway noise. We requested a rear-facing room and were not bothered at all.

Although close to downtown, the walk from the hotel until you get to downtown is a little bit funky. Also, the breakfast was plentiful but not particularly appetizing. Food tasted kind of plastic with the exception of a few things
I liked that it was new and clean. I also liked that it was walking distance to downtown which was fun.
