I have only 2 complaints…the sliding door for the bathroom would not stay closed. And second, the biscuits at breakfast, while huge, were not baked all the way through.

The room was very comfortable. Dinner at the tavern was delicious! Breakfast was buffet style, and very tasty.

The breakfast buffet was overpriced and the yogurt was 3 days past the expiration date. The tavern needs a drink menu.

Location, zip line adventure, hiking trails were fantastic! Front desk was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.

Restaurant staff seemed unpleasant and it was difficult to get the right temperature in the room.

The lodge was well appointed including the remodeled rooms and nice open spaces.

The bed was uncomfortable and had a piece of wood underneath the mattress. It looks like when they clean the room they don’t dust or clean the floor. When I got there I noticed the floor. Headboard,tv,tables dusty. They never had any fruit at front desk. It’s ok though because we’re only going there to sleep we didn’t even have time to do anything at Unicoi area or park

The location was not bad we were there for all the waterfalls and to visit helen. Everything was within minutes. Unicoi state park it’s ok I just didn’t have the time to explore it.

The maze that was navigating the hotel main building and the individual lodge buildings. Lodge is bi level but that is not obvious in dusk/dark so had to lug suitcases up stairs when we could have just rolled them. Also, the restaurant that is supposed to do breakfast was only open 730 to 900. We walked up at 845am, had to dodge people setting up for a conference, to find out the restaurant was "closed for a private event" and empty. But the "Tavern" restaurant wasn't open yet. Stayed 4 days and could never catch them open. Seems odd and weird that for this price point of stay that a breakfast was so hard to get onsite with 2 restaurants in the building. The open hours should overlap or something.

I didn't like that there was not a comforter/bedspread on the beds. It's just a very thin blanket. We thought the maid had forgotten to finish making the bed. We were there in January, and it got down to 6 degrees outside. We had to really crank the heat since we didn't have a blanket. When we got there, they said the dining room in the restaurant was still open, so we went to get dinner and found they closed it early, we had to eat in the bar.

The location is perfect! Hotel is nice, staff very friendly.

The night we stayed building A was empty other than one other family. With a very young child. They put us right next door to each other. Unpleasant to say the least to listen to a child cry at 6:30 in the morning when we easily could have been separated.

The walls were very thin. You could hear everything upstairs, your next door neighbor. I would have liked it more if that wasn’t like that .

The breakfast was just okay. We did come a little later though there were just plenty of people arriving after us. Didn't seem like there were more than two people working so things took time. Not a problem with that, just a notice of short staffing might help keep frustrations at bay. It was buffet style but seemed like some things you had to ask a worker for, not sure if this was just due to short staffing and the replenishment of goods got put on the back burner while attending to guests.

The map of the grounds was super helpful, we got in after dark and used the map to help find our room.

Connecting rooms. Need I say more? You hear everything which comes from the attached room. Beds confort is also far from ideal.

The shower drain was clogged or something, so the water backed up and almost overflowed. It took so long for the water to drain after my husband's shower that I was not able to take one. We reported it at checkout. Hopefully, it was corrected by the time the next people checked in.

The restaurant situations on site. Extremely small venue with one server who was overwhelmed. We were told it would be a 15min wait time but people were walking in in front of our family as smaller parties and being served.

Lots of activities to choose from for outdoor family fun and location is great
