The cleaning products used in my room left an overpowering fragrance - some people might not be bothered by it but I found it unpleasant. I kept the windows open all night to dissipate it.

our room had a very strong air freshener smell which was uncomfortable for sleeping. we were told we couldn’t have the set menu because we hadn’t booked dinner bed and breakfast which was disappointing and this hadn’t happened before. we have been welcomed by better receptionists. but the Boss Lady saved the day when she helped me buy 2 necklaces from the Hôtel jewellery cabinet and we thank her very much for that.

Light in the room

Excellent location. The breakfast covered our expectation, by providing salty and sweet offers of good quality. Little bonus: the restaurant "El pelegrin" is inside the hotel. We absolutely recommend it!

The breakfast was disappointing. The cold buffet was acceptable but the hot food wasn't. Eggs were either undercooked or overcooked. Having eggs made to order would have been better.

The reception staff at this hotel are exceptional. Friendly, helpful and informative. The room was superb, and the best bed linen I have ever had. Luxurious high quality bedding. Very clean. While we were there they were refurbishing many of the rooms, ours was one not yet refurbished, and it was one of the best places we stayed in during our three month visit to Europe. The food in the evening is excellent for special occasions.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but I do have a few minor comments: 1. The list of amenities in the bathroom didn't match the products available. According to the list, there should be bath gel, shampoo, bar of soap, shower cup, shoe polish, hair comb, shaving kit, dental kit. Out of the 8 items, only 3 were available: bath gel, shampoo and bar of soap (not as a bar, though). There was no shower cup, shoe polish, hair comb, shaving kit, or dental kit. 2. Considering that one of the selling points of the "Superior Double Room" is “Streaming service (like Netflix)”, wi-fi was far from ideal for a room with a smart TV. We simply gave up watching anything on Apple TV as it took a while buffering... Besides, even though they use Netflix as an example of a streaming service, the Netflix app is not available. Other streaming services are, such as Amazon Prime Video, Disney Plus, but Netflix isn’t. That said, some of the info available on the Hotel page (such as using Netflix as an example of a streaming service and not offering it) and at the Hotel itself (list of amenities in the bathroom that doesn’t match what is offered) can be a bit misleading. As I said, these are details but could be better informed than they currently are.

Everything was fine but breakfast was expensive (13€) and it would have been good to feature local produce, eg fresh bread, pan con tomate ( not industrial) etc.

The hot items (scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon) were only tepid at best and on cold plates went cold fast! However, that was that only thing I might fault.

Had opted for the breakfast buffet included option (though the price is the same if you pay on the day). Nice buffet, good coffee..

Minor complaint was the price of breakfast. I won't pay over €10 so didn't try it.

Excellent throughout, large room, spotless, air con that works. Tea/coffee makings. Secure garage parking. Five minute walk to the plaza and Dali museum. Very quiet even though the room was on the street. Staff excellent.
