Wi-Fi connection was not stable

We booked 2 rooms in this B&B. The rooms have good view from the windows and there is a large living room on the main floor to hang out. Hilton, the host, was most gracious and helpful. He provided us with wine glasses, chips and chocolates to enjoy in the living room. Breakfast was sumptuous and rooms were very clean. House is 5 minutes walk to Windermere center, 25 minutes walk to Bowness. Train station to London and local bus stop is only 5-10 minutes walk away. Bus 599 is the perfect sightseeing transportation to see the Central area. An all day Group (5 or less travel together) unlimited bus pass (€25) is a bargain. We didn’t bother driving at all for 2 days. Thank you again, Hilton.

Really amazing place to stay, we enjoyed our 2 nights very much, beautiful room and so quiet on a night time. So close to everything Windermere has to offer, and a short walk to the lake. Breakfast was wonderful, made to order and the quality of food was spectacular. Would definitely recommend, great place and great host!

The only constructive feedback I have is that my partner said his beans could have been hotter and he wasn't keen on the herbs that were on the mushrooms. Although he said they were cooked lovely. Maybe offer an option to have no herbs on the mushrooms.

Hilton was a lovely host. The guest house was really nice, comfortable and very clean. The location was perfect. A short walk into town which had some lovely little bars and resteraunts.

The host was lovely and helpful, the room was nice and clean and a good size and very comfortable, the breakfast was great with both cold and hot options, the location was great (just 10 min walk to the train station and 5 min walk to the town centre and other transport links). We really enjoyed our stay!

Nothing not to like. The weather was wet, but it was winter, and where do you think the lakes come from ? 😀

Hilton was very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful with information on bars and restaurants in the area. We had a lovely break over New year's eve. The hotel is close to the centre of Windermere but in a quiet location. It's a good 20 minute walk down to Bowness and the lake, but we got taxis back up each evening. Breakfast was freshly cooked and there was a good choice of food.

This is the best B&B we stayed in. The room was well appointed and very clean. Our host, Hilton, was very accommodating and gave some great advice on travelling around the area. Breakfast was great. There were several restaurants in walking distance and it wasn’t far to walk to Bowness on Windermere. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely stay at 1 Park Road.

This B&B was excellent!! The room was super clean, comfortable and had everything one needed. The breakfast was delicious and prepared fresh everyday of our stay. The host, Hilton was fantastic and helped us plan our daily trips. He had great local knowledge regarding restaurants, pubs and activities. I would definitely recommend this B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Every morning I was served a delicious vegan breakfast and a plant-based milk alternative was available at all times for tea and coffee. The host gave us great personal recommendations for day-trips and restaurants.

Cannot think of anything!

Excellent breakfast including fresh fruit, homemade marmalade, jam and curd as well as a full English. Location very convenient - easy walk into Windermere, restaurants etc. Accommodation very good, clean and comfortable. Fresh milk really appreciated. Hilton is a most hospitable and charming host.

Bit tricky with our shower getting it to stay at a warm temperature, other than that, nothing whatsoever.

This property has so much charm and character! It’s been cleverly restored by Hilton and you can tell how much he takes pride in his work. He’s full of knowledge, wit and makes your stay incredibly enjoyable. There’s a fabulous breakfast spread, the property’s a stones throw away from the lake and there are some luxurious extras make this the perfect stay!
