We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Lots of charm, have stayed many times and it’s always relaxed. Dinner and breakfast both excellent. Room clean and fresh.

Got upgraded to a suite f.o.c. - it was very nice. Staff member was very helpful. Smashing old building - lots of interesting features.

The doors closed very noisily - especially when the guests next door to me slammed their door at 3:00 am. It would have been good to have help accessing the room on check in.

United KingdomThe location is excellent, the staff are super lovely and charming. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are huge, the garden is lovely, and the breakfast was excellent too. We’ve stayed there before and it’s a beautiful old building with a grand staircase etc. This time things weren’t quite as good as usual. I’m not sure if they’re struggling to get staff, but our room wasn’t as clean as it could have been. It looked like someone had started it and not finished it? The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, and the taps etc were looking tarnished and tired. The glasses had water marks, and there was dust on my bedside table. We also struggled to work the heater in our room. …They immediately came to turn it on for us, but we turned it off to sleep and couldn’t turn it back on again in the morning and didn’t want to trouble them again. 😊 Overall it’s a great place to stay though, and we will stay there again.

United KingdomDecor tired and tatty in places. One of the rooms had an unreliable shower (scalding or freezing), slightly lumpy bed, and a noisy fan and light in the bathroom that turned on automatically when the bathroom door was opened. Service in the restaurant was slow due to low staffing.
Good location and spacious interior. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the Thai restaurant downstairs was excellent. One of the two rooms was very large and comfortable. We enjoyed eating in the lovely large garden where the children could also run around.

United KingdomThe specific request for sofa bed was NOT met - some sort of breakdown in communication from Booking.com to the hotel. The door on the bathroom did not close properly without effort and the bolt did not work ( - the door was jamming on the floor). The light in the bathroom was on a movement sensor, so (for instance) if you were sitting on the toilet - patiently! - the light went out and you had to move for it to come back on - bizarre.
The bed was reasonably comfortable. The staff were very pleasant, though exceptionally overworked. The breakfast was a good range and reasonably prepared. The food in the associated Thai restaurant was excellent.
